SMEdit

    SMEdit 1.03.92a

doesen't even read the default blueprints! or user created ones!
Didn't load. 10 out of 10. Would read error messages again.
Would be nice if this program was up to date to the game.

Getting http://puu.sh/dbKM2/e6373db41a.png msg all the time when trying to load a ship.

Giving it a 4/5 for not being up to date to the game!
Works out of the box (if you know what your doing) and pulled the schematics from my local directory without issue.

Only two minor issues. It doesn't support SketchUp file types (but I can always convert to Obj!) and it really doesn't like BIG ships. Optimisations for rendering big (>1000m) ships would give this 5 stars.

thing doesn't even work waste of a hour trying to get it to work. don't even try to get it work. it doesn't work, don't waste your hour like I did
I've seen this every where and love the concept. My problem is I cant figure out how to install it. Please help me. I download the zip file. Then I open it and there's no launcher. I am extremely confused.
when It loads I think it will be good. hopefully
it cant find the starmade home directory and even when typed in correctly dosnt even open

    Hello.

I really like the concept of this tool, but I've been having a huge issue.

Mainly that I'm so tech-incompetent that I can't even figure out how to install the damn thing properly, can someone explain it? my main issue is the directory thing, how is that supposed to work?

Aside from that, I like it, atleast the concept.

I've seen videos of this, and it looks amazing. I just wish I could use it. When I downloaded it, it came as a notepad format.
This app is so fantastic for everything it currently does. Once the dev's allow access to some of that sweet, sweet coding that is missing SMedit will only get better.

I cannot wait for this update

Thank you :) am always ready to give SMEdit the love it deserves, and get it out to the public.
i have tried to get this to work but every time i click start SMEdit it comes up with a error message saying could not create java virtual machine and a fatal exception has occurred program will exit i am not the best with computers so i have no idea how to fix these things any ideas because SMEdit will make it much easier to work on ships

set the memory use above 1 put it at 2 and try again (remember to click on "apply" to save the settings before you try to start the main application.)
It's a particularly bad thing for me that I can't importmy own ships, as my new corvette won't fit inside of my carrier unless I can move my core, please update this soon.

Yes I know and understand the problem, but there is code in the game that the game developer feels he doesn’t yet want public, and without the use of that code our application has to remain as it is. The best thing for everyone to do is to remind Schema (I am not saying hound him or irritate him over it) that we need this code cleaned up and able to be public as soon as he can so that we can use it in our development. Thank you for your support.
how to do perfect symmetry on x axis? as 3d models are not symmetrical
    Bobby Bighoof
    Bobby Bighoof
:) I wish there was a way to make that easy but there really isn't. We could load the 3d model then maybe stretch it to fit a perfect symmetry, but that might take larger computers than any of us have to calculate.
good but why can't we still import our ships :(

    Bobby Bighoof
Yeah sorry about this. If we were just showing you what the ship looked like on say a blueprint viewer then yeah we could simply skip information that we don't yet have a clue what is, but as we need this data for editing and resave after edit; we kind of need the game development to tell us what that math is, but right now parts of the blueprint math are still locked from us so we can't use them no matter how much we want to. Sorry about all that.
Great for making hulls, but absolutly refuses to open ships of any kind. I really need to repaint my flagship, I really don't feel like replacing several million hull blocks by hand :(

It still can open ships it makes as long as you don't alter them in game then resave them, and we are still kind of waiting for some math to be unlocked from schema to be able to load new blueprints. Sorry about that working hard to resolve this.
Love using the import function with various models

Those 3D models are wonderful aren't they :) They are often a life saver when you think you know what you want but just don't have the year worth of time to try and put it together. lol
