This POC (proof of concept) is for another project I'm working on but a few people expressed interest in having something like it. The Iris logic is by the core and pretty straight forward (sorry not display documentation, bug me and I might make a revised version).
Iris doors need to be 'even' symmetry and there is a real trick to making the edges line up because your limited to 45 degree increments. To resize this you'll have some tinkering to get it right and it'll probably never be 'perfect' as there is a 1/2 block offset for the rotational center
Fully open the door requires less space than most doors (90 degree swing) and this design is only 2 blocks thick, making a retrofit less than horrific on your existing ship. The required logic is dead simple and the speed control is larger than everything else combined (slower looks cooler).
So use it as a template or a learning tool (Bench has some tutorials on YouTube (rails) that will explain everything).
Hope you find it useful.
