The Comet is a fast and sleek runabout, designed for 1 manned transportation and mobile home. This ship was designed by Raven Star fighter CO, who were also responsible for the older cousin of this ship the Sparrowhawk, but were unable to fund this creation, the ships creation rights were purchased by Plaz fleet works, and was manufactured there. The ship was quickly favored amongst shipyard leavers and well one of the founders themselves Plaz, for there slim frame and easy to pilot controls. And were often used on diplomatic missions with other empires by ambassadors and so on. It quickly became favored by high class citizens of the galaxy as a status symbol, seen as the Comet was utilizing several “classified” technologies which massively bumped up production costs, think of it as a modern day sports car. The Comet was entered by a trident fire team on holiday into the outer rim cannonball run, which was a 50 star system race through treacherous space. Though not the fastest ship around for thrust its advanced star fighter jump drive from raven star fighter CO made it Excel in long distance actions, giving it a 1st place award winner during the event.
The LTT-12 Comet has some very distinct features, for 1 the large flat section on the front of the ship. This is the ships Jump drive also known as the T-12 jump drive, one of the best in the Trident faction. It utilities 4 separate Jump coil systems that can for a decent amount of time hold a Jump charge in them, combined with the power for long distance Jumps and a pinpoint military grade navigation system, the ship can pretty much go wherever it wants in a full charge. Behind the jump chamber is what is normally mistaken as a reactor but is actually a military grade Co axis shield pylon system, the drive core is integrated into this system for this ship but does not directly make it the power core. The shield system is quite large for the size of the ship but is necessary with the amount of Jumping the ship can do it requires the partial protection in transit. Funnily enough although made in Plaz Fleet works famed for their use of any ship having guns in them, this ship has no offensive weaponry, this was decided due to the target market most likely using it as a runabout rather than a combat ship and the ships fancy jump drive would be enough to evade most if not all deadly encounters that would normally require guns.
