KillStreak Corvette

    KillStreak Corvette Mk1

My best design currently, trying to aim for some better ones in the future.
The ship is designed for constant transport across the galaxy.
    Comes with cannons for weapons.

Any constructive feedback would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks

    mass: 321.2
    length 29m
    height 7m
    width 23m
    power 90231 (6255/s)
    thrust: 217.4 (max speed: 141.2; with overdrive: 172.8; thrust/mass ratio: 0.7)
    shields: 3093 (209/s)

    exterior: 3.5/5
The ship is a bit bland, but it's hard to detail small ships and the overall shape is nice. It lacks reactors and does not suggest any other propulsion system, which is a bit weird.

    interior: 3.5/5
Same as exterior. The interior is very spacious for a ship of this size -perhaps even too much- It could use some appliances like a bed or a table to occupy all this free space.

    energy systems: 2.5/5
The power recharge rate is low, ships of that size usually have between 15,000 and 30,000 energy per second. The additional power capacity isn't needed, the systems don't require that much energy (although it somewhat makes up for the low recharge rate)

    weapon systems: 3.5/5
Its weapon destroys one standard armor with piercing defensive block per shot (each 1.9s) and its dps is average (~780s). This is decent for a 300 mass ship although not exceptional.
The energy consumption somewhat matches the energy generation rate allowing you to fire for a while as long as you're not moving.
The lack of any tertiary effect is regrettable, punch-through cannons being strictly superior than vanilla cannons.

    thrust: 1.5/5
I know I'm a sucker for speed and mobility, but let's be honest, 0.7 thrust/mass ratio for something this small is terrible. However, you have decently sized thruster systems, the problem really lies in your increadibly heavy armor which amounts for more than 75%(!) of your ship's mass (armour usually amounts for 20 to 35% of a ship's mass).
In a nutshell: this ship is far too heavy.
Instead of building it entirely of standard armor, try to build it out of lighter armor (hull) and reinforce only the most important areas with standard armor, advanced armor or crystal armor. Also avoid using too much heavy armor for your interiors, I know the textures are nice, but with an interior this big compared to the ship's size, it'll kill performance.
I like the presence of an overdrive effect. However, with only 36 modules, you don't get the full bonus (you'd need 81 modules instead for this mass).

    Defensive ability: 3.5/5
The shields are really low, however, since your ship is 75%+ standard armor, it should be able to withstand a lot of damage. If you rely that much on armor, also consider equipping your ship with piercing and punch-through passive: you need very few blocks for their maximum bonus, the energy cost is very low and your armor will be twice as resilient.

    other systems: 2.5/5
The cloaker is useless: you don't have enough energy to sustain it for even 1s.
This ship lacks a jammer! Well, to be honest, it's too heavy and has too low energy generation to supply the jammer, but still... I like jammers and on such small ships they're not that costly.
The jump drive could use a single module and be as efficient. The additional modules currently only add mass, energy consumption -which far exceeds the energy recharge rate!- and won't help that much against jump inhibitors.

Thank you so much for this. This is my second ship and I'm still learning how to build ships. I might start taking this into account for my next ship. Thanks!
