Grand Obelisk

    Grand Obelisk 1.1

Here we have my first large space station! The Obelisk's primary purpose was to be essentially a hangout with a lot of room, but now includes functionality rooms like a simple factory and a cargo hold. Stats are a bit low for a station of it's size, it's primarily normal hull and mostly hollow. Isanths won't get past it's shields though.
It's nice, symmetry was abused a bit here, though the rooms within each wing are different. Should be around 12 different large rooms not including the core and docking bays.

There are around 18 turrets I think? Including the large ones underneath.

Love the mini museum. The whole place feels familiar yet alien. Like w/e lived here wasn't human but enough hominoid to have mostly compatible stuff. I see references on purple planet flora that refers to it by different names and labeled as 'from the homeworld' while traditionally terran flora seems mostly a mystery to these folk. I'd love to learn the lore behind the design and the creatures it was made by and for.

The fact Hanger 1 and Hanger 2 allow for ships of differing form factors tickles my inner logician. None of this 'park where ever, it's all the same' nonsense. Hanger 2 especially seems suited to cargo operations and other logistical tasks while Hanger 1 seems more tactical.

Fun to explore and functional. A great (and I mean GRRRREAT) starter station. Once setup up properly it can make resourcing a breeze but doesn't hold your hand. It leaves the door open to the idea of an adjacent shipyard if the user decides to Macgyver their way through the construction process.
Pretty station, and it has kitties!
We're now using a modified version as a replacement pirate station on our server.

Sounds pretty cool! I'd love to see it sometime, I don't think I've had anyone modify these before. May have thought of something I didn't!~
I really like the profile of this station. Great balance between detail and open space.
