With the help of CyberTao, I've managed to scrap this useful little elevator together.
All in all, I think you'll fine it quite useful. Features being -
- The destination selector is located inside the elevator itself. Using the left and right buttons, you can choose which floor to go to (currently, 1-5). Once you've picked, simply hit the center button (which will change as you hit left/right) to get going
- The doors to enter the elevator open automatically, and only when on the intended level. Also, they'll close when changing levels.
- The elevator won't attempt to change levels until all doors have closed, preventing anyone from falling into the elevator shaft by accident
The interior is modeled after how I'm planning to have my ships' interior look, but the area inside the shaft is relatively open enough to redesign to your content.
As with most logic, avoid button mashing. If you do hit a button twice, hit it a third time to set it right. You shouldn't encounter any permanent damage to this logic system with repeated button pressing.
If you make any videos that contain this elevator or someone asks how it was done, please include me in the credits! Again, a huge thanks to CyberTao !!
