Weird Slowdown in FPS

Hey all, I've got a really weird FPS slowdown problem. A particular ship that I'm working on tanks my FPS down to 4, while a much larger ship has a nice smooth fps at 60.

What's going on?

If anyone has any questions in order to help me out I'll be happy to answer them.

I am running 64 bit Java by the way.

Maybe some pictures of the ships? A lot of exposed animated blocks could be a problem. Beyond that I doubt I could be of much help.

Without the actual Ship to take look at and the basic knowledge of what your Computer specs are (and if you are running this Solo or on a specific server) its hard to make a guess what is causing it.
