So I was inspired by some of the ships on here and decided I'd go for one of the longest serving ships in Warhammer 40,000 the Eternal Crusader Battlebarge. Fortress home of the Black Templars who have waged a non-ending 10,000 year crusade from the helm of this ship. It's total length is just over10k so I'm scaling it down to just over 1k. 20% of the exterior is finished (not including the nearly 3 dozen turrets) and it is already over 250k blocks.

Looks like an excellent start! I was always confused that there aren\'t more ortho images of 40k ships out there. Makes it very hard to recreate them. I think this is a great size, though the ship in that image doesnt seem 10k going by the windows...

Most of the gothic architecture of 40k ships is drasticly oversized for the ships. Below is a comparison for the main ships of the imperial fleet and it is worth noting that the stern of the battle barge has a 3km cruiser docked to it. (I may build that and find a way to dock it on as a scouting vessel once the battlebarge is finished.) The second image has been my primary source for details on the ship.

Well regardless, that looks like a practical size for flying around. If you find any top views of any of those ships, let me know? Maybe I\'ll cobble together some of the smaller ships as escorts.

The scale your first link is out. The Retribution Class Battleship weighs in at 8km long for starters

The scale may be slightly off on those ships but they serve more as an example. The 40k wiki and the Lexicanum both mark battleships as being anywhere from just over 5k to 8k. The reason I went with the Eternal Crusader was because it was a named ship meaning I could scale it down with exacts rather than aproximations.
I\'ll look for some top views but most of what I\'ve found are side profiles with a couple angled, it would be pretty awesome to put together a crusade fleet.

A little closer to 30-35%, getting close to the hard part which will be the commander center and core of the ship, I\'m thinking of setting the command center up in the cathedral on an alter to tie in with the gothic church feel of the ship\'s architecture.

Oh wow that looks sick...Are those side cannons turrets? I would either make them turrets that can at least rotate slightly within their cove, or fixed missile ports. It\'s hard to count blocks from those images, are those bays(i\'m assuming that is what they are) big enough to fit fighters?

There are 20 fighter bays measuring 18x12 each, the large cannons are fixed for broadsides, however the alcoves above as well as the spine of the ship will be outfitted with turrets.

i love the way the ship looks and everything seems to be perfectly in order.

i was wondering, could i get some close up pictures of the cathedral ontop of the center of the bow and the \"face\" of the bow as well please? while the afar pictures really show the grand scale and theme, the details really bring out the personality in the ship.

I\'ll see if I can get some decent pics in a day or two of it though currently it still has a ways to go on the exterior. My roadmap at this point is exterior hull, hull detail, turrets, iconography (cathedrals and iconic locations) and finally functionality. Besides, if it comes together as I\'m hoping it will, the stern cathedral will be where it is at as I plan on building the command center into it.

The exterior hull is around 60% and is fully outlined. I\'ve installed some systems due to pirate raids so it\'s power is 33 million with a 2mil recharge and the forward cannon\'s damage is at 400k.

Wow. Just... wow. I can\'t wait to teach the heretic pirates to fear the Emperor\'s wrath!

Also, is that 400k per shot or 400k DPS? And will it be able to perform Exterminatus?

With the actual planet size and firepower available - yes, Exterminatus is possible. But I guess the Exterminatus is performed by many vessels, not just one.

It depends entirely on the ship(s) carrying it out so long as they carry the viral bombs and cyclonic torpedos necessary to set off the chain reaction.

I\'m aware of the various types of Exterminatus, but it\'s not as if cyclonic torpedoes or virus bombs are in StarMade (though stupidly powerful missiles might qualify as the cyclonic torpedoes), and it\'s also not as if it\'s possible to set off a chain reaction in the (imaginary) core of the (super tiny) planets. Also cyclonic torpedoes are the only type of Exterminatus that actually blow up the planet IIRC, the others just wipe out all life on the surface and/or strip off the crust. And I also know it\'s possible to take out planets, I just wasn\'t sure if this ship in particular can manage it (though given that the thing is gonna be 1km long I probably could\'ve figured that out on my own, in retrospect).

I\'ll go with \"Where there is a will, there is a way\" And the Black Templars will the Heretic and Xenos to burn! Though in all seriousness, If I have to do a 2 higher layer of missle blocks the length of the ship across the entire bottom and then add a floor above, I have the space and patience to. That would add up to a 200,000+ missle battery which I\'d immagine has a sufficient blast radius, or could be made to. The ship is 200+ high, 200+ wide, and 1k long so I have plenty of space for systems. And yeah, I\'m focusing primarily on the cyclonic torpedos.
