The United States Space Force (USSF) Shipyard is the official (Not literally, of course) shipbuilding facility of the US. The standard fleet colors are white base with black accents for military vessels, grey with brown markings for non-combat/civilian-operated ships* (IE cargo haulers/scavengers) solid black for special operations ships, (IE high-speed dropships/deep-penetration scouts**) and grey for specialised ships (IE scouts/drones).

*Undercover military vessels can be given this color scheme

**Deep-penetration scouts are fast, small craft that need to be hard to see. They normally have little to no armament, their protection being speed and (if present) jamming.

    Insignias:

The standard fleet insignia, it is used on all ships. Non-combat/civilian ships replace the grey with white.

The alternative insignia, this pattern is applied either on the tail, on top of, or on both sides of a ship not large enough to accept the standard insignia. The pattern's minimum size is 2x2, but larger is appreciated. On non-combat/civilian ships, the checkerboard has a grey-brown color scheme, and special operations/specialised ships have the white replaced with grey.

This fleet will use only the following ship classifications: http://star-made.org/content/dmans-ship-classifications

Anyone who wishes to join the USSF Shipyard must send an example oftheir previous work to me via PM. If it makes the cut (In effectiveness and aesthetics, NOT size) I will add you to the member list, and you can submit new ships that will be posted here.

    F-31 "Talon"

    Class: Fighter

    Download: http://star-made.org/node/14781

    Mass: 30.2 L: 17m H: 9m W: 13m Thrust: 107.6

    Power: 20,000 at 5,171.4 e/sec

    Shields: 6,712 at 547 s/sec Recovery Rate: 0.5

A small fighter, the Talon has negligible shields, more designed to soak up point-defense shots or absorb a huge cannon blast rather than take sustained damage, it is decently equipped, with 2 nice AMCs plus a third, lighter one. It turns very fast and is quick to accelerate, making it a good interceptor or dogfighter. As a skirmisher, sent in before the battle to dogfight and gain intelligence, it is unrivalled in the USSF arsenal. Overall a lightly protected fighter with a good armament and good agility.

    B-12 "Crossbow"

    Class: Heavy Bomber

    Download: http://star-made.org/node/14780

    Mass: 103.4 L: 21m H: 12m W: 17m Thrust: 237.8

    Power: 20,000 at 12,443.6 e/sec

    Shields: 32,527 at 1,788 s/sec Recovery Rate: 0.5

Armed with 4 short range, slow reload d1000 missiles that have a large blast radius, plus 4 nice AMCs and a tailgun operated by someone sitting in the back Weapons Computer. The shields are surprisingly strong, as they have a fast recharge rate and decent capacity. The front has hull armor 2-3 blocks thick in most places and a cockpit with a Plexglass covering. The acceleration is surprisingly good, although the turn rate is sluggish. Overall a quite powerful bomber that has surprising agility.

    SF-82 "Shadow"

    Class: Stealth Fighter/Bomber

    Download: http://star-made.org/node/14782

    Mass: 123.4 L: 32m H: 23m W: 33m Thrust: 192.4

    Power: 46,506.5 at 201,238.2 e/sec

    Shields: 12,908 at 894 s/sec Recovery Rate: 0.5

The Shadow is a capable stealth weapon, with acceptable acceleration, decent AMCs, and large missile pods. Its ability to cloak and jam and stay that way, it doesn't need extensive shields, so if caught uncloaked it is vulnerable. The AMCs are weak individually, but together they are sufficient. The d1000 missile are strategic, and only useful on immobile/immobilized units, as there are 32 of them, but they are slow and weak individually. This forces their use at close range, where they will all target a nearby point, drilling a hole into the hull. The equipped SD-KB missiles are more useful than the d1000 in actual combat, but it forces the Shadow to be alone, so as not to track friendly targets. Overall, the SF-82 is a force to be reckoned with when used correctly.

    C-22 "Panther"

    Class: Corvette

    Download: http://star-made.org/node/14830

    Mass: 120 L: 25m H: 12m W: 17m Thrust: 218

    Power: 20,000 at 23,438.6 e/sec

    Shields: 42,400 at 2,182 s/sec Recovery Rate: 1

The "Panther" is an aggressive corvette with a hard-hitting battery of AMCs. It has decent acceleration, enjoys the enhanced protection of hardened hull, and has a decent shield, although the recharge on them is a bit slow. The 2 main AMCs deal around 150 damage per shot, with the multiple smaller ones around 60 damage each. The C-22 also has 2 cockpit locations, allowing more versatility if one is destroyed. This is overall a fun ship to use that can fulfill many roles, such as escort, support, and patrol.

    S-1 "Scout"

    Class: Scout

    Download: http://star-made.org/node/14831

    Mass: 8.6 L: 8m H: 6m W: 11m Thrust: 26.2

    Power: 20,000 at 924.9 e/sec

    Shields: 806 at 111 s/sec Recovery Rate: 0.5

The "Scout" is true to its name, being unarmed, barely having any defense, but being extremely agile. The single shield block used is more to keep a homing missile from hitting you, as it can't stand up to any level of AMC fire. That isn't usually a problem, though, if you keep moving. Hitting its top speed within seconds, (Tested at a 125 max speed) it is inherently hard to hit and by making unpredictable movements you are very hard to even track. You can outmaneuver any missiles fired at you, if you don't outrun them, that is. It lacks an armament of any kind, however, and its limited shields would make it a horrible fighter even with an armament. Overall a ship with extreme speed and maneuverability, but no offensive capability and extremely limited defenses. Always remember, agility is your defense.

    Rift Class Heavy Siege Cruiser

    Class: Heavy Cruiser

    Download: http://star-made.org/node/14835#comment-75105

    Mass: 2,384.4 L: 194m H: 23 W: 17 Thrust: 4,798

    Power: 721,095.5 at 457,305.2 e/sec

    Shields: 76,371 at 3,393 s/sec Recvery Rate: 1

    Turrets: 8 Point Defense

The Rift Class has extreme firepower and decent speed, but is lacking in turn rate and defenses. Its 8 point defense turrets have no shields because they are too small to hold any. The shields n the ship itself are not very good, either. There is a reason, though: This is a siege ship. Firing from a distance, this ship can take out any AI turrets or even many player operated turrets with ease. Destroying bases are cake for this ship. Of the 6 main AMCs, 2 deal about 720 with the other 4 dealing around 640. The 4 d1000s are extremely powerful, the 2 lighter ones having a blast radius of 38. Nothing can stand up to this firepower. This ship requires an escort however, due to aforementioned downsides. Overall, this ship is a monster of a weapon but has negligible defenses.

then I do, but only on larger ships, as smaller ships just can\'t handle the mass of the added blocks in most cases. And stealth fighters use little to no hulls in any form in the first place.

They funtion exactly the same as regular blocks but sloped, they do not have less durability or anything. Why not replace some blocks with the sloped vesion to create less jagged ships at no increase in mass.

Also not all stealth fighters are hullless, sure most use only power blocks but that creates a bunch of ugly stealth ships that all look identical for the most part (IMHO).

My stealth ships in fact have lots of hull and wedges and they still perma cloak/jam

The problem with rplacing the hull blocks is most of my ships have systems built right up onto the hull for high efficiency, thus wedges wuld expose a portion of these.

And I have seen your stealth ships, I don\'t know how you do it. Mine can barely permacloak/jam without hulls. :P

Well yeah not all blocks can be replaced with wedges without exposing something but typically the flat sides of wedges can hide parts fairly well. If adding wedges does expand the ship perhaps some of the hull blocks that are not exposed can be replaced with more power and engines to offset the extra mass, in the end you\'ll get a functional ship with the smooth look everybody seems to enjoy, of course it\'s up to you.

I wish that wedges only were half mass so using them wouldn\'t add a full blocks weight.

I was bored so I tinkered around with the F-31 \"Talon\" a bit

No blocks added only replaced with wedges:

Added a few blocks (5 to be exact) to better shape the cockpit and belly:

I think it\'s a fairly nice looking little fighter once it gets some wedge TLC

I like what you did with the Talon. Although I do have 2 other reasons for lack of wedges:

    1. Wedges are harder to come by than hulls. (Only applies when you are building from scratch, of course)

    2. I\'m absolutely terrible with wedges in small areas.
