You mean like practically every other game when it gets updated?
One issue that starmade had was that it updated too often, that is less of an issue now - and with the custom texture sheets and block config being separated, it removed most of the messy mod installation.

I say no to this suggestion, and here is why in image format

As you can see it uses a mixture of grey, dark grey, and red. Furthermore a mixture of basic, standard, and advanced hulls to achieve the textured look.
Also dark grey basic is the same/very similar colour to grey standard, so keep that in mind if you want a very light grey ship but don't want it light in colour.

Now texture packs are the best option for giving a player the option to choose how his/hers game looks without changing the entire thing for the rest of the players. I for one think the current textures are perfect, and besides ADV and standard look the same from a distance anyway so why is anyone complaining?
