    IMPERIAL DECREE
    Earth Calender: 30/07/15
    Imperial Calender: 30/07/01

Any issue that arises from an individual's encounter with the Imperium must be brought to me, depending on the nature of the situation. If one of our members acts in an unworthy or unsporting manner, please contact me and it will be handled in due course with the appropriate action. We wish to keep our thread free of clutter and the prattle of lessers would make the place look untidy.

    Thank you.

I, a representative of the faction Event Horizon, one of your close intragalactic neighbors, would like to ratify a "Derelict Stations Conservation Act" with your faction.

On the Starside server, their are a multitude of different derelict station types. Some of them posses warp-gates from a time long past. Those will the the subject of discussion, the rest are irrelevant for now.

Act One: We ask for the continuing neutrality and preservation of these ancient relics. In the event of an awesome war between our factions, and during peacetime, targeting of existing warp-gate structure is to be prohibited. This is referring solely on the damaging and destruction of neutral derelict warp-gate stations.
-Activities that are acceptable during conflicts but not peacetime include but are not limited to: Rerouting warp-gates to another target or a sun, mining** the area around the transit point, filling the area with cores, deleting the warp gate computer and replacing it with another in the same spot, removing the stations energy capacitors, placing defensive fortress around the gate, writing offensive propaganda in display computers, and placing pixel art around the place, but not attached to the station. New activities that do not directly or indirectly harm and prevent the usability of the derelict station can be permitted under the guidance of a faction leader.
-Banned activities which prevent usability of the station after the conflict include but not limited to: hopping in a build core and removing blocks, salvaging the station, purchasing stations to cause them to be exempt of the treaty, setting up gun emplacements on the derelict station itself, and factions shall not blowing holes in/ the nuking of/ riddling with holes/ conduction Base Delta Zero's on or to neutral derelict stations. The use of any variant of the Missile+Missile heatseakers in the sector of the station and any sector adjacent to the station is to be prohibited (If you can see a warp-gate on your navigation menu when set to stations, then you are too close). One shall not drive warheads into derelict stations either.

    Violations and Consequences:
Violations of this Act will result in the offending faction(s) spending their own time, effort, money, and blocks into restoring the station. If the station is has been irreversibly damaged, the finding of a new warp-gate might be necessary. If no warp-gates are found within one jump of the original gate AND the target of interest (such as a home-base or asteroid fields, the reason for the gate to be used), the offending faction will fill a blueprint of an existing derelict station with a warp-gate and present said blueprint to one of the affected faction's founders.

**Mining refers to the act of filling the area with cheap explosives, either stationary or drone controlled,
gratuitously for the hilarity of things. Not actually mining with savager beams, that would be boring. It can also refer to the act of leaving multiple cheap drones with simple weapons, although the user The_Geek shall not "blot out the sun" with 3562 TIE fighter Drones ever again.

Act Two: If any player or faction is found or caught, or believed to be targeting, damaging, or tampering/ interfere with in order to cause damage or make unauthorized alterations to existing warp-gates used in our networks in an attempt to cause us grievances will be considered a Casus Belli. Casus Belli is a Latin expression meaning "An act or event that provokes or is used to justify war". Reparations will be levied at the offending individual or faction to follow the "Violations and Consequences" clause outlined in Act One. If the individual or faction does not comply or is resistant to the demands, and diplomatic bridges are burned, a Just War will be declared upon the faction or individual. If the faction has a warp-gate network established akin to ours, we will be "the bigger man" in the fight, and not target unmodified or unclaimed derelict stations as outlined in Act One, while committing glorious war-crimes such as draping and filling their home-base completely in lava, mining** all of their shops and asteroid belts, exploding all their planets, and in-general causing a ruckus, for our cause is just and right. After the offender has been thoroughly defeated and we have had adequate amounts of fun to recover from any grievances decided upon by us victors, the war shall be concluded and War Reparations will again be levied against the defeated, with less harsh terms. If the defeated did not engage in battle and lost nothing of value like a coward, they will be blacklisted by our faction and harassed until they engage in an adequately glorious battle or leave the server. If War Reparations cannot be reasonably be paid, a compromise will be worked out between our faction founders.

Act Three: It is preferred if derelict stations are not factioned, refurbished, purchased, or altered significantly, and that free travel is permitted by all starmade users, even those not in our factions. If a station needs to be altered, please notify someone from both factions and do not alter a station in the other factions territory or in a system adjacent to claimed territory without explicit founder permission from the other faction. If a starbase with a warp-gate has a logic controlled tollbooth with a fee to passing ships, it is expected that you kindly pay the fee as long as it is not too extravagant or ridiculous.

Cool addons that are permitted and awesome are listed below, and will grow as cool stuff is talked about and added.
-Color coding gates in multi-gate stations, as long as the linked gates are also colored and the system is easy to follow.
(ie, the red gate is linked to the red gate, or blue gates lead towards the galactic core while orange gates lead towards the outer rim).
-Big pixel displays showing where the gate leads with either coords or with a name.
-Logic driven computer that records traffic of a gate to see how many people pass through it.
    -More to follow

Act Four: Inter-Faction gates that link from one faction space to another faction space directly (or a sector adjacent), and public transit gates are special gates and have different/more rules than the normal ones.
-Public use gates are defined as being useful to everyone and lead to public areas such as 2,2,2 or spawn island or the contested pirate sector. Operators of these gates are expected to eliminate pirate bases within 3 sectors of the gate to prevent mischievous pirate raids which have a chance at damaging the gate. Stations, with some exceptions, are not to be created within 1km of the public use gates to prevent any issues when warping in or jumping in and materializing inside of a turret. Ships left drifting by these gates are to be reported to the operators for them to move to prevent clutter. These areas are to be kid-friendly so a twitch streamer or youtuber trying to have a kid friendly channel doesn't need to pause recording or censor out a rudely named ship/station or a phallic shaped image. Subtle innuendos should be fine though.
-Inter-Faction gates, like public use ones, should have pirate stations cleared out within 3 sectors of the gate. Defensive forts and turrets are not to be built within 1km of the gate, and sizes should be regulated so no individual part (like turret base or station block itself) should generate over 1.5 million power alone (this is just a rough estimate, and to prevent arms races and massive titan sized bases which could crash someone out and make the gate unusable to them). Embassies should be established and public hangout places constructed by both parties (obviously blueprinted to safeguard a extreme case of dicks coming to mucking things up) at each-others gates (so EH embassy at the HI gate, and HI embassy at the EH gate). Embassies, shops, bars, and other public hangout spaces are to be their own individual stations, and to be "built pretty", providing a nice experience to both factions and to provide artistic inspiration to other players. They are still expected to be somewhat small and compact, not exceeding over half the size of the warp-gate and to not dominate the sector with their presence. These establishments should be founded 100 meters from the gate, to not block the path to the gate or the transit point from the other gate, and to be no farther than 500m away from the gate. They should not be armed, but provide docking to visitors and at least access to a lobby for people from the other factions to explore.
The faction owning the gate should put up a visitor board telling people about how awesome their faction is and what activities there are to do in their faction space, because why not. Embassies should not be targeted in times of war, unless they are using that as a means to gain an upper-hand, in which case blast away.
A code of conduct is expected when using an interfaction gate. Before transiting, state your ship's name or your craft class and then say their bases name with your intention, ie "Medium Miner to Helkan Home, requesting permission to transit, over." and to wait 30ish seconds for a response. This is to prevent any panic or discomfort by the other faction when they get a message saying that another craft has entered their system when they could be mining, so they don't need to race back home and activate scanners. Sometimes they might not want you to come by their home-base, like if they are having troubles docking something or are conducting weapons testing. It is expected that as a guest, you accept instructions given by the other faction while in their system, however weird their cultures may be. If they do not want visitors and you need to work on your factions embassy, you can transition into their system if you don't leave the sector with the warp-gate. If no-one is online, you can still visit, just don't bump anything for the love of god. Be respectful, is all we ask.

We hope that you find this fair, and these Acts to be a set of social norms and rules that other factions abide by on the Starside server.
If you have any comments or request changes, then by all means, write out your concerns and we can enact changes to the bill.

(side note, sheesh, I thought that writing this would be simple and easy! So much for a paragraph length. Also, this is just a way that we can both agree to not kill each-others warpgate stations and to be a social experiment to see if it can truly be done on a starmade server between 2 large factions that don't really know each-other. I wish you all the best! ~Arty)

lol no, this is a single member getting bumbothered. Also, that wall of text you wrote seems a little excessive just for derelict warpgates, care to condense it a bit for ease of comprehension?

    err...
Did you think I was saying it was in any way Planr's fault?
This sort of thing is never the fault of the person seeing it, only the one who posted it. I in no way think that Planr is at fault for seeing whatever Planr saw.

Do you have some thing about calling people immature, childish, etc? There's plenty of perfectly good other ways to insult people, show them some love. Or don't, I don't really care.

Also I wanted to apologize to you for my little speech in NuclearDonut's thread, it was unkind and uncalled for, and the logic behind it was sketchy at that. I also want you to know that I no longer agree with much if not all of it (I'm not going to go back and look through it)

Oh come on, leave him alone already. He felt the faction was no longer a fit for him I guess, no need to bully anyone.
Lol, you have no idea what he's don't upon leaving, that fucker screwed me so hard I have to refit my entire fleet, and what have I ever done to him? I spoke up for him when the other officers were pissed at him. Seriously, this guy is fucked up.
[DOUBLEPOST=1438559757][/DOUBLEPOST]Oh and you wanna know to best part? The only reason he was able to screw me up was because I trusted him with my information, in which he then promptly leaked out because he wasn't happy about penguin porn.

Nah man, I think it is condensed enough already! Or maybe my International Politics 212 course is starting to affect my logic process... :O

Really it is just a set of standards and behaviors that we can follow and enforce on others. Really I had just thought of this because you guys are close neighbors and I commonly talk in the general chat and you guys seemed cool and alright.

But that Chabaz Mining Company, I don't trust them. It might be a front for a terrorist organization. We should take them out before they try anything.

The throne's decree on this situation has been decided. The former member, Planr, has decided that the current state of affairs is not to his liking and has opted to leave the Helkan Imperium. We respect his decision and wish him the best of luck in his future endeavours.
The individual known as Samuel is asked to cease posting immediately as the situation does not concern him, nor will it ever concern him, now or in the foreseeable future. What we choose to do on our Skype is entirely up to our own discretion and his 'input' on the matter is not appreciated in the slightest.
Futhermore, if anyone else wishes to dictate how we should present ourselves and act, they shall find that we will not bend to their will and shall promptly be told to abscond from our presence.

    Emperor Incap
