Go ahead, Game, I am happy to inspire you, though if you're still getting the hang of building you might want to start with a small destroyer size ship first.

I'm not getting the hang of building really... I've built things earlier. I've just been out of touch with the game for a long while.

I'll get it right soon enough, I think. The leap from Minecraft to Starmade can't be that big. I think what's putting me off is the functional bits a spaceship needs, whereas in other games I usually built for just aesthetics.

Just a question, what vessel classification system do you use? I am trying to picture the small destroyer you speak of but my estimates vary from anywhere in between 5000 and 12000 mass... :p

I have not been idle, here's a little bit of extra I've added.

Most notably is the archive. (the red part to the top-right of it in the picture is a large dock where another faction can build their own embassy)

Side view of the Archive, as it stands now, it still needs some bells and whistles, I admit it took longer than it probably should have.

Here is the inside lower area. There is the service desk in the back and areas to work and collaborate in pairs or larger groups.

A view deeper into the building, on the left you can see the restricted Data-processors.

The data processors and shelving, next to annexes for individual work.

The back room with closed-file information storage.

The walls and floor are supposed to be white marbled with some fancy expensive gold or some such. Does it look ok? you tell me.
The big glass tower serves no purpose at present, but will probably contain the office for the Arch-Archivist or some thing.

Now onto the next arbitary segment. Maybe an apartment complex, or a accessway station
    What.... how?!?!.... hnggggg.....
    *ERROR*

*brain ran out of memory, transferring to physical memory banks*

    *Rebooting*

hnnnmrrrflurblb.... AAAAAAAAAH, YOU MONSTER!!!! How could you create such wonders with blocks?!?!? My brain crashed trying to assimilate the information.

    This is magnificent!

For me, a destroyer is between 200 and 500 metres long.

Hello People-who-read-this-thread. It's been a while since I have posted an upderp.
I've been busy with the server I help to manage, aswell as work, I do find time for my beloved station though, there simply has not been any great singular progress of late.

Did some work on the Rapid Transit System, today.

That is: the course of tubes and passages that doubles as a race-track with configurable intersections. Here are some pictures.

Here's the first intersection: On the right you can see the little control center, before a race an organiser would park a ship there and operate the controls to cause the gates to close and arrows to light up as needed. I will also be using beam-based power drain and power supply systems to supplement the race.

Here is the control center for this intersection. The top buttons control the gateways, the bottom buttons control the arrows. Could I streamline it better? Could I make it more logic intensive with cool stuff? Absolutely! but I do not think it necessary.

An interesting idea would be to make racers that only had power tanks and no recharge so that they are forced to stop in the pits every few laps for the recharge beams.

If you would care to navigate your butts upwards into the depths of this thread, I have exactly that idea.

    Implementation is planned :)

I'm still alive, the station continues.

While not a part of the station, the warp gates leading to it are a vital part of station infrastructure.
    Here it is so far.

    How do you build so fast ;_;

    Warpgate is finished, there are currently 3 of these in operation;

    One at -42 -42 -40 leading to a non-supernova Warp-gate at -5 -4 5

    And two linked at -40 -42 -42 and 0 0 -1

    The gate at large.

The Blastgate in-case the route needs to be shut down. Of course it will not prevent ships from coming through, but will prevent them prproceedingoward the destination from the closed gate. It is controlled from the tiny control chamber within one side of the gate.

The functional energy storage components that make the magic happen.

Which community thread do you refer to?

At the moment I am not working on it any longer, i'm just no good at stations, so I've moved on to the same concept, but aboard a ship, which is much more exciting for me.
