Looking at this huge 3d map we have, and with the ability for fleets. A command Option should be allowed.
Where you select your ships in the map, and you have different zoom options for your map: Overview(the one we're used to seeing) and Tactical(Zoomed into the single map square itself) With tactical view, you'll come across a smaller grid, of which you can order a ship to move to those coordinates, your fleet have options:
Recon (report and mark enemy and abandoned structures/ships on the map) Patrol (gives the ship waypoints to repeatedly follow) Flank (moves around to attack from the side) Attack ( has the ships go straight towards its target for combat) and Search and Destroy( ships search the sector for an enemy entity and then eliminates the threat. **Can be used with sensors, ships will investigate pings on sensors**)
Along with those basic orders, comes suborders: Engage - fire at will, Hold fire-do not engage, Hold fire-fire if engaged.

With larger Clans, high ranking officers will have the ability to mobilize an entire AI fleet for combat.
**Command Centers require alot of resources to maintain (signal wise) So be sure to keep many stations with comms arrays around to ensure your orders will be sent to your fleets and ships**(Claimed sectors increase broadcast strength by 150%)

There have been a lot of suggestions lately in regard to expanded fleet orders. Not sure if a section has been made on the megathread yet, but this thread falls in with those I believe. SkylordLuke, expanded fleet orders section of megathread yet?

Otherwise, some of these are quite solid for micromanaging fleet commands. Did anyone else have any other thoughts on the matter?

I made a thread about similar things a while back, although it was discussing sub-sections of fleets and the possible new orders associated with them.
