Hey everybody i was wondering of anyone had a ship that can cloak and radar jam that basicly inhibits the opponents ship or a set of systems that can do it that you can use to make a ship, in one of the other games i play their bringing out a new set of ships that do that sort of thing
Ill put a picture in here also if you want to try and build a ship that can do that Intelegence Ship.jpg

there are a few stealth ships out there. The problem is the power that active stealth and radar jam needs. Most of these vessels are just reactors with weapons. And they are very small.

I myself have not much experience with these kinds of ships.

there are quite a few you could use.

    • Emp
-Combination: Converts the weapons damage to instead do damage to the

    power of the enemy ship.

    -Defensive: Protects against power damage.

    • Ion
-Combination: Does more damage to shields, at the cost of less damage

done to blocks. (But it seems to me it does only damage to shields, may have somthing to to with me using 100% support)

-Defensive: Hardens shields with a % of damage reduction.

    • Push
-Combination: Add a physical push to your weapons in exchange for less damage overall.

-Defensive: Gives a burst forward to your ship (valuable in battle.)

    • Pull
-Combination: Adds a physical pull to your weapons in exchange for less damage overall.

-Defensive: Gives a burst backwards for your ship (valuable in battle.)

    • Stop
-Combination: Converts dps into a braking effect on your weapons to hold your enemies in place.

-Defensive: Nullifies the effect of natural gravity (e.g. from planets.)

    all could be usefull.

it seems like the emp would be best because it drains the power but with almost every ship nowadays having some pretty insane power gen it seems kinda use less unless you put it on like a 1mil dps array of some craziness like that
i just got an idea, since firing while cloaked disables the cloak i could:
ship can fly, cloak, and radar jam
Have an emp array and a block damage array
make it so that i can keep the radar jam in combat
make the outside black hull so that its harder to see

Jamming cost you 5 e/sec per mass and cloaking 145 e/sec per mass plus any energy needs for thrust and shields.

Hmm, just a black hull wont do that much good to keep it hidden, especially if the others use "prcedural backgrounds". Then you have a black spot before a very colorfull background.
However... in a sector without a procedural background combined with a radar jammer and you should be good.

But you asked me on ideas how to build your ship.
Well... if i try to recreate a ship i try to get a picture with the ship from the side, front, top.
Then i scale the picture down so that the picture is as long in pixels as the size i want the ship to have.
Then i use the windows paint programm to zoom in all the way and activate the grid so i can count the pixels easier and build the rough outline.
I can not find much pictures of the STO Intelligence Escort so you have to guess the size. In the "art-of-intelligence-ships" post on the STO Page you get a nice top view of the escort. i would start with that and from there on guess the height. It should be roughly the size of a Defiant Class, maybe a bit longer. So it should be aroung 170 to 190 meters.

Started construction, pictures to be taken and put up soon if anyone cares[DOUBLEPOST=1410998713,1410996914][/DOUBLEPOST]Hey guys if your still watching this can someone please help em out with this, is the oc cloaker still at 145 ec per sec cause i did the math and i should be power stable while jamming and cloaking but the cloaker drains the power extremely fast
Any help would be very much appreciated SEMP.JPG

There's a little problem with this setup: you automatically decloak when you fire the weapon.

im not going to be cloaked while firing and i do know the basic mechanics of cloaking, i'm not trying to be rude.
my main problem is that the ship can perma jam easily but so can most other ships nowadays but the instant i hit the cloak it drain the power pretty fast, i did the math and i have enough power storage and regen for it to be able to perma jam and cloak as it is but its not

You might not be able to perma cloak. But temporary cloaking is very feasible with good power storage!

I also suggest using the stop effect since even a small weapon will stall a fairly big ship.

Might I recommend push pulses. Not the damage pulses with push effect, but the separate push pulsator system (that should probably be renamed to something a bit more identifiable like force emitter). It's a longer-ranged pulse that will render the enemy ship's thrusters unavailable for three seconds as well as applying a small push effect to them. Using stealth to get within pulsator range and using the pulsator to ensure the enemy can't get you out of their blindspot is a viable way to use temporary stealth in actual combat situations as long as you cna also fit at least one decent weapon system.

that is a very good idea thanks, i had wanted to perma cloak but with a perma radar jam its hard enough to hit me unless im in front of them
i usually get about i think like 2-5 seconds of stealth before im completely drained the way my ship is now and that is without moving so the power system isnt very good right now i think
i could use this strategy once my power system gets better:
stealth into plso range and hit them with the pulsar
drain their power with the emp
either abuse the overdrive ignore shield bug slightly or make a high dps cannon array to chew through their hull

i will probably want to make cannon arrays because they are a bit less noticeable than a block of white lasers shooting out of a jammed ship

Sorry, my bad, anyhow I haven't seen a perma cloak ship that big before, are you sure that its not a logarithmic function?

That is because this ship is ten times too large. To answer the op's question: Cloaking takes 145 energy per second per block , not per mass.

Oh right they changed it to Energy per Block. Well yes that would require around 6,5 million energy per second.

I personnally no not think you can fit a decent weapon in a ship able to cloak to even scratch the hull of a equally sized ship.
So the cloaker ship would be limited to "support" or "recon" roles (stopping, draining, emping and scouting) and need to work with other ships to do actual damage.
However if you plan to use this against a player a simple Jammer is mostly enough. it requires much less power so you can actually have good weapons. No one watches every possible direction all the time and if you have a diversion, for example an allied ship designated to be the damage dealer ship, you cen get easyly in position.

Specialized ships can do a lot of damage when used together.

We had a nice combo of a stopping-beam ship pinning down a larger enemy, an ion/emp ship draining the shields and power and a burst damage ship punching holes in our victim. So if you have a decent team you can have tons of fun.
We tried a variant of the above tactic with only the stopper and drainer ship. Instead of the damage dealer we had a boarding party on the other ship trying to blow up the core with handheld weapons. Tons of fun!

I would suspect you could make a stealth ship similar to EVE Stealth Bombers. You lose stealth for a while but you can then bomb the crap out of any target
