StarNet is a dead handy tool that still works to this day, and as I'd rather it not fade into irrelevance, I'm making this post to have an easy way to find the official links for it. NFD Build Server uses it almost daily, and it is a key part of how we operate.

Arguments for the no gui version - starnet.jar [serverIP : port] [superAdminPass] [Command you want to run]

You must have a super admin password set and enabled for this to work.

    StarNet with GUI (windows only)

StarNet with GUI (Linux, Mac, Windows)

StarNet without GUI (Linux, Mac, Windows)

Care to explain what it is?
From the release notes, linked in the OP:
    StarNet: remote lightweight admin tool

With this tool (with or without GUI) it's possible to send starmade admin commands or chat (like the console commands) to any starmade server from anywhere. This system uses the Server super password (in server.cfg). You also have to switch the system on to be able to use the remote tool. (default is off, option in server.cfg)

Old post I know, but the StaNet download links are dead. Any chance you could update?

https://files.star-made.org/StarNet.jar still works for me, I haven't tried the others since I don't use them.

You might want to try substituting https (new, encrypted) for http (old, unencrypted) in those other links. The functional part is StarNet.jar, the others are just a GUI wrapper and a launcher for Windows; basically all that does is "type" java -jar StarNetGUI.jar into a terminal window so you don't have to ; )

    ------

For those wanting to still dl this to test it:
Right click -> Open link in new window -> highlight link at the top -> Press Enter key.

Might get a popup sending you to dl java: https://www.java.com/en/download/
I don't know what "the top link" does (I don't use Windows, and even if I did, chances are I wouldn't be using the same browser anyway), but that sounds an awful lot like your OS trying to be smart -- instead of saving the file somewhere on your disk, it tries to open it with the associated interpreter, which is indeed Java. And since that is likely not installed by default, it sends you to the download site instead.
Maybe that's smart, maybe it isn't; I'd prefer my OS to either fail, or educate me what I'm supposed to do (you know, that whole "give a man a fish/teach him how to fish" stuff...)
I would have thought it obvious that a .jar file requires a JRE, but it's probably not obvious to everyone.

Anyway, I hope all of us can get StarNet and Java to work, and enjoy learning something in the progress ; )

    EDIT:
I hope I didn't come across as condescending, JRE being obvious and all.
I guess it's similar to how it all depends on how one has learned to write -- for me it's obvious I'd need some implement to write with, and some form of medium to write on, but for someone from the digital generation, that may not be so.
