Here at Schine we're dedicated to building StarMade into all it can be. We often get asked what our plans for the game are, what's coming next, and that all important question of when will we ever hit Beta. While some of this is covered in live Q&As and Dev Blogs, it doesn't quite describe how much we actually do have planned. So this thread is dedicated to showcasing our development timeline. Of course some stuff we're not yet ready to announce, while others the community is aware of, so while this list represents our current development timeline list, some details will be blacked out until we're ready to announce it.

Overhauling how docking is handled to introduce a rails system, allowing for linear and rotational movement of docked ships with added logic support and functionality.
[ now in-game ][ Player ] SPAWNING ON SHIPS
Ability for players to log out while on a ship and then respawn back on that same ship independent of whether or not the ship has been moved during that time.
[ now in-game ][ Unique Block ] JUMP INHIBITORS
A counter to jump-drives to support more even player-vs-player experience.
[ now in-game ][ Unique Block ] SHIPYARDS
Shipyards introduced as a pseudo-Creative Mode allowing for designing ships with unlimited blocks. Automated construction through supplied blocks from storage and factories. Also a way to easily deconstruct ships. Designs of ships can be saved and loaded into other shipyards.
[ now in-game ][ Unique Block ] ACTIVATION GATES
Activation gates introduced as a less processor intensive way to detect ships passing through a specific region. Also opened up the ability to introduce race gates for an additional meta game option.
[ now in-game ][ Unique Block ] TRANSPORTERS
Introduction of transporters, allowing the teleportation of a citizen between two different transporters. Additional functionality added to support restricting or public transporters.
[ now in-game ][ Mechanics ] SLABS
Introduction of a slabs system to allow certain blocks to be available in slab versions, including 3/4, 1/2, and 1/4 height slabs. Introduced in preparation for cargo implementation.
[ now in-game ][ Unique Block ] CARGO
Introduction of cargo as the main method of storage, eliminating unlimited storage possibilities, making storage considerations a part of the design of ships and stations.
[ now in-game ][ Factions ] FACTION PERMISSIONS
Additional functionality added into faction permissions to have personal faction rank, as well as new blocks to allow support for both public and faction permissions.
[ now in-game ][ Mechanics ] IMPROVED THRUSTERS
Thrusters now have a Newtonian option while in flight mode, as well as improvements to the way it handles in relation to mass and distribution.

New mechanics to be able to create groups of fleets, along with additional blocks to support flagships becoming carriers to other ships in the fleet.
