    Welcome to Starfleet, Cadet

Starfleet is an organisation whose primary focus is the maintaining of peace between civilisations allied with them, exploration, and protection of the weak.

    Starfleet Command
    Head of Starfleet
    Deadlis

    Head of Starfleet Intelligence
    [Redacted]

Head of Starfleet Corps of Engineers
    therimmer96

    Head of Starfleet Security
    Beliskner504

    Head of Starfleet Operations
    [pending]

    Departments
    Starfleet intelligence
    [Redacted]

    Starfleet Corps of Engineers
The corps of engineers are responsible for every new ship, station and system produced by Starfleet. They are responsible for construction and maintenance of the fleet. The Corps of Engineers will build, name and register, and maintain all ships and stations required for the fleet. Members of this department will be given the ability to work on ships and stations that they design for the fleet, and work on ships and stations with other members of the department.

    Starfleet Security
Starfleet security is responsible for making sure that Starfleet, her assets and allies are safe. This includes the protection of important members and ships, escorting trade convoys, and the set up of defensive outposts. Starfleet Security is in control of ensuring that anything that happens in Starfleet space complies with Starfleet regulation. Security is also able to respond to calls of distress from players, whether it is a pirate attack, or a player bully.

    Starfleet Operations
Our newest department, Starfleet operations is in charge of managing Starfleet's assets. This department is in control of Starfleet's shop network, factories and resource distribution. This department will maintain that all of Starfleet's shops have a reasonable amount of items and credits. It will ensure that all factories are well stocked so that no department will run out of resources when they are needed most. They will also be in control of trading with other factions, whether it is raw materials, whole ships or stations.

    Ranks

Ensign - Most members will start here. You are the workforce of Starfleet. Any basic job that needs completing will be delegated to an ensign. Due to being newest and generally untrusted members, Ensigns are trusted with the smallest ships of the fleet.

Lt.Commander - To be promoted to this level shows you are dedicated to the faction. You are trusted with larger ships, more risky tasks. You are able to give orders to ensigns, although you must obey orders given from anyone above you.

Commander - We are really starting to trust you at this rank. You will be given jobs that must be completed well. You are also trusted with larger ships, and can take command of a small outpost.

Captain - You are given full autonomy. This is the maximum rank a Starfleet officer can attain without running a department. You are trusted to get the job done. You command the largest ships in the fleet, give orders to anyone below you in rank, and can delegate work to those below you (within reason). You are seen as a shining example of a Starfleet officer.

Admiral - To attain this rank is incredibly difficult. A new department must be formed that you can head best, or you take command of a department with no head. You can give orders to anyone in the faction who is not an admiral, you are given information that is crucial to Starfleet's daily operations.

    Standard Issue Ship Assignments
    [Ensign] Inspiration Class [NCC-90100-99]

A small and fast ship. This features beam+cannon+overdrive, and a missile+d.pulse. When the overdrive is removed from the beam system, the ship can cruise at a steady 500, and be pushed up too 650m/s if you work the power well enough.

    [Ensign] Stargazer Class
More information and screenshots will be posted when class is completed.

    [Commander] Armitage Class
More information and screenshots will be posted when class is completed.

    [Captain] Odyssey Class
More information and screenshots will be posted when class is completed.

    Subject to change
    The Prime Directive
Otherwise known as Starfleet General Order #1 is the guiding principle on which Starfleet is based. It is a non-interference directive which forbids the interference with other factions that are not considered "Sovereign Powers" of the server. To be considered a sovereign state, said faction must meet the criteria of membership in the United Federation of Planets. Any members caught violating the prime directive will receive disciplinary in accordance to the scale of the violation.

The Prime Directive is our promise to not get involved with small factions. It is a set of guidelines that determines at which level we deem a faction a legitimate faction rather than a group of friends protecting their stuff. There is a set of requirements that a faction should fulfil before attempting to interact with starfleet. These requirements do not apply to forums communication.

    1) A home base and at least one outpost on Elwyn Eternity.*
    2) A thread on either Elwyn Eternity's forums, or the official Starmade Forums.
    3) Being able to field a fleet of at least 5 ships plus one designated flagship.*
    4) The faction must be at least one month old.*
    5) The faction must have at least 5 active members.*
    * - Required

This directive is here for the protection of the smaller factions. It is here to ensure that we do not get involved in smaller faction politics, and ensures that we do not declare war on factions that do not deserve it.

    United Federation of Planets
The united federation of planets is an alliance starfleet has slowly been planning for quite some time now. The idea is to unite all the smaller factions that would not be considered or are not confident enough for the 2 big alliances.

The UFP is not ready yet, but we wish for early information to be released. This is all subject to change.
Rules for Being Admitted as a Member of the United Federation of Planets

    1) At least one established home base and one outpost on the ElwynEternity server.

    2) A thread on either Elwyn Eternity's forums, or the official Starmade Forums.

    3) Being able to field a fleet of at least 5 ships plus one designated flagship.

    4) Being able to send at least one diplomat to discuss admission with us on teamspeak.

    5) The faction must be at least one month old.

    6) The faction must have at least 5 active members.

If your application is approved, you will be contacted to set up a date and time for the interview process. (If wishing to join Engineering; please be aware that you may be asked to produce pictures of builds during your interview). The interview process is just to ensure that new members are suited to the department they select, and the faction as a whole. It normally doesn't take longer than 15 minutes.

Official statement regarding events on NASS main.
We have recently been informed that events on the NASS main server have taken place involving several attacks on factions and destruction of property, caused by a faction bearing the name Starfleet.

We are not in anyway affiliated with this faction, and nor are we involved with any damage that has taken place on NASSmain. Starfleet policy regarding factions bearing our name does not usually extend to servers that Starfleet does not operate on, but due to the circumstances, we are considering possible courses of action.

There is no reason for the Starfleet Intelligence description to be redacted. Everyone knows what the CIA is, everyone knows what an intelligence agency is in general, etc.; it's no secret. The only secret is the things they happen to actually be doing right now. :p

Alright, then for fairness' sake, I'll give you the full description, department chief, almost-full roster (Excluding undercover operatives), and list of publicly-known missions.

    Engineering - Homebase construction started

Deadlis and I have begun construction of our new homebase. Currently it is far away from anyone can actually fly, so please dont try getting too it. This will be a long term project, but the main hangar bays have been started. As soon as they are at a basic-ly functional state, we will move the station (via elwyns donor teleportation) to the boundaries of the spawn region. This is a huge undertaking. I will post a construction log here and possibly in the shipyard section.

    List of planned features
    • Parking spots for starfleet ships below a certain size.
    • Parking for potentially hundreds of starfleet small craft.
    • Smaller parking for none starfleet ships (for traders or visitors).
    • Lots and lots of logic
    • Long range defense
    • Well stocked shop.
Current construction state - Framework for the Starfleet docking bays started.

How the space will be divided

    Update
    Starfleet recruitment is now open

We are now accepting new members. please fill out the application form in the OP to enlist in starfleet. Currently, only one ship class is available to new members, the inspiration class. Please check the OP for details on this ship

    Registry System finalised
As we are a faction based on starfleet, we decided we need a registry system that isnt just stealing registries from ships in the trek universe. So we have created our own method of identifying ships by registry. Each ship class is assigned 100 possible registries. The idea is that if we have over 100 unique versions of this class, it is probably time to retire the class. For example, the USS-Inspiration, the first ship of its class has the registry of NCC-90100. the next Inspiration Class ship would be NCC-90101. The final inspiration would be NCC-90199. The next class would be NCC-90200 and up.

They don't consider you an actual faction as you don't play on their server.

As i have stated in the OP and the Galactic Space Jam thread (FD asked about it there), it doesnt apply to forums communications. The prime directive is for those small factions who think they are the best. DFN easily qualifies past the prime directive, and a PM too Creeper__God has been sent.

    Update
Starfleet has now started playing actively as a faction, and there fore I feel it is time for an update to our size.

    Members
    Starfleet currently has 11 members.

    The fleet
Since yesterday when we started keeping track of ship status', 7 individual ships have been registered. Currently, 3 remain in active commision, with the other 4 being lost in battle. These are all small ships due to the various "rebalances" the game has been going through, so we have put construction on hold for the time being.

We feel this is a good start to the faction, although this is nothing compared to our old fleet of over 37 (registered) ships.

The collective wonders why you would have torpedoes specifically for travelling the pacific?
