Explosions and amcs will leave single blocks floating around as well as larger piece off the hull. Now usualy these smaller blocks would float of into space. But we cant have that as that would lag up the game and look stupid as you would have bits everywere. If we just leave them there they would still look wierd and they would also restrict acess to the actual hull. Itll look a bit like minecraft when u blow up a tower or a large structure and it just looks so wierd

The game needs more space objects besides asteroids, shops and stations. It would be nice to fly by the remains of a peice of art. I think the recks should be completely inactive though and only good for mining (you can\'t put a ship core in a space object anyway). After a long time on the same server it seems like asteriods and stations would be a bit rare, so wrecks would just be recycling the blocks you mined from an asteroid or station in the past.

generally they would be salvaged on servers, in particular by new players. and I agree that they should be a config option for those servers where money is provided and salvaging is a novelty.

for over ten minutes before they disappear.

Anyone who cares can salvage or repair them before the disabled core goes critical.

If dead ships stayed in the game forever, they\'d eventually clutter up the server and cause major lag.

Just how many crappy pirate ships you shoot down every day? No one wants to salvage those after a while. How many pirates are shot down in a week, by a hundred players?

Trust me, there will be a buildup, and that\'s a solid certainty.

Most people are lazy. They\'ll only pick up the good bits.

Has anyone ever played Lineage 2 on a private server? Unlike WoW, monsters dropped their loot on the ground as individual objects, but players only picked up what they really wanted, to save time. It caused brutal server lag, requiring several restarts a day to clean up the mess. They tried making the items disappear after some time, but ultimately it still wasn\'t enough. The final solution was to don\'t give the players a chance to be lazy, and automatically transfer all loot to their inventory.
