Idk if this is an bug or optimization needed, but when I had my ship on a planet(along with my friends) we landed(crashed) and mine was falling and I got out to add more thrusters the server started lagging non-stop, couldn't even move. I had to remove the ships from the game. I'm assuming its something to do with objects while in gravity and the scale of my ship. Just throwing it out there.

it seams to me that when the game has to load more stuff at once ie:planets and larg ships, the game has a hard time to keep up, my solution is to build a ship with a core 1 thruster and 1 power block to be like a shuttle between my big ship and the planets...i somtimes have this trouble just loading some of my ships and the fps drops so hard that i just cant play.

I think the game renders ships differently when you aren't in them so gravity some how has more effect in memory. And it was my client it was the server having issues with it. But we didn't experience any lag until we left the ships.

When I quit to desktop after landing and exploring a planet my ship was deleted. Strangest part was when I went and looked to find the ship before I knew it was gone there was a default Mob ship in the planet sector.

lag on planets can occur, when the situation gets to a point where there is a flood of contact points between a ship and a planet. This almost always happens when a ship gets stuck in a planet.
The trigger that turn on the gravity for ships is a line collision test from the core straight down to see if the planet already loaded. With larger ships this method is not enough since the gravity could be switched on. the ship \"falling\" a little, and then a segment loads in with a tree inside the ship.
I\'m working on a better method for triggering gravity. so that it\'s ensured the body that is causing the gravity (in this case the planet) is loaded to a level where clip load-ins can\'t happen.

@Zyrafyr you can use the admin command \"/search shipname\" to search for a lost ship. ships usually don\'t get deleted accidentally, so maybe it just got blown to another sector.

Ok schema, I\'ll give it a try, I have long since gotten past that but I am curious if it still exist.

Ok, used the command. All I got on the list where two mobs created from my ship when I saved it in a shop. Looks like its gone. I lost my ship while playing in single player if that has any meaning... Oh and the game doesn\'t save to the server when I am within the planets gravity I just get a \"no response from server (5sec)\". If I leave the gravity and am a floating in space then it saves. Or so I thought... Since then I have been leaving the planets sector and waiting till I get the saving to surver message then I quit to desktop. No problems since.

Planets and savings worked well for me on the server and Singleplayer, probably because my PC is strong...

The problem the game physics have, from what I saw, are the builds arround the planet. But I already reported that, so, it shouldn\'t matter much.
