I would recommend allowing aligned warp, if all the following rules are met:
    1. The Ships are on the same faction. (There is an assumption here: that ships on the same faction, when aligned, will have their navigation systems "talking" to each other, so that synchronized FTL travel works smoothly without the player having to think about it.)
    2. The aligned ship has a matching FTL drive. (No FTL drive in the aligned ship? They are obviously left behind... unless you would like an assumed "extended warp bubble" extended from the aligned-to ship, which would be perfectly fine, I think, as long as the ships are reasonably close together.)
    3. The aligned ship's FTL drive has at least the same capabilities as the aligned-to ship. (This may become an issue with a different FTL drive type, such as an ultra-high-speed warp drive with different speeds or other capabilities, depending on how Schine defines those differences.) For instance, if the aligned ship can't reach the aligned-to ship's "warp speed", the alignment is broken as soon as the faster ship goes into warp.
