Large ships are at a disadvantage to large ships. You can put out more damadge in one second then you can have shields. The ships I was talking about previously, has 12million shields, and is loosly populated with turrets. It puts out 2.5mill dps. If you put turrets in every available space it would be 13-15 million dps. Large ships cannot duke it out with large ships. But you need that dps to fend off smaller ships, since turrets have such horrible accuracy you need to do as much damadge per hit as possible, and get as many hits as possible. But all of that focused on anything remotely large and it will die in seconds, which seems off for a ship that may have taken a group weeks to build. There is no fighting chance for capital vs capital.

As for keeping it safe when you are not around, you cannot dock large ships. Because of the following error-

    1. Aug 29, 2013 8:09:52 PM] STDERR: [ERR] [CC]INFO: RigBExOrig@1715214914([CubesShape|SER Ship[Borg](87075)]): (36.019104, 571.9201, -191.97368); RigBExOrig@1804794952([CubesShape|SER SpaceStation[ENTITY_SPACESTATION_Somewhat_Deadly(87076)]]): (38.729095, -85.16093, -186.48834) UPDATE#: -11605

When you get a large (not block count, but dimensions) ship near the cuboid (make a cuboid around each of the stations dimensions) of a station the servers ping will rapidly increase into the thousands or tens of thousands, while your client degrades to less than a frame every 5-10 seconds. This prevents you from docking, becuase you cannot manuver into range of the module (Accelerating/decelerating/turning are registered each time you get a frame for the length of that frame) (assuming your core can even get within 50 meters of it in the first place). Your clicks for docking are often not registered as a result of the server lag and your clients framerate. A single click will continue clicking, you may randomly dock and immediatly undock.
