Question about shipyard module arrangement

The game tells me that shipyard modules have to be arranged in a C-shape. Does this mean that I can make an almost closed circle or does it rather have to be a U-shape?

U or almost closed circle both work last I checked but would have to test again. Square U shapes give the best amount of build area they provide.

any form that is open on one side should work, and has uniterrupted connections to each of its blocks.
it has to be symetrical afaik.
it has to be the same shape for every part of the shipyard afaik.

Be aware tho that closing off the "open" part of the arc can cause funny collision check issues depending on the size of the yard
