Real life car motors run on 70% power, because old grandmas should be able to use it without getting it to explode.

But if space rockets fail at start, they may explode violently.
But that's because rockets are powered by thousands of tons of liquid hydrogen (HIGHLY EXPLOSIVE) in a pressurized environment. Believe it or not, rockets aren't really "engines" at all, they're just the equivalent of a 100,000,000 gallon spray paint can with a match underneath. Combustion engines use tiny explosions that push pistons outwards to in turn move the wheels of the car (Slightly Explosive).

If I remember correctly, the in game engines are the equivalent of ion drives, which are somewhere in between the two using mechanics and a small amount of fuel to power the ship. These ion drives (in real life) are actually safer than any other kind of engine because they use electricity and xenon fuel (Not explosive btw), (For all intensive purposes let's say the power generators produce the Xenon and Electricity) and in the long term are also more powerful than any other kind of engine being able to propel anything in space up to 10% of the speed of light (about 67,061,663 mph or 4,000 times faster than the world's fastest spacecraft has ever traveled).

So no, more powerful does not mean more explosive.

but but but but one shotting planes and tanks are fun D:
It is because planes happen to have their fuel tanks(at least partially) in their wings, and kerosene happens to be more volatile than your standard gasoline.
And regarding tanks, once you are through the armor it is over for any tank.
But this is straying sightly off-topic now.
