Penta bug?

    When trying to fight through a bug I noticed a possible issue with the pentas.

    Notice how the penta, above my selection frame, isn't flush with the tetras?



    Now, with symmetry on the other side looks like this.

    Perfect and flush!



    It is acting like both sides SHOULD be flush but for some reason the model for the forward/left facing penta isn't the proper model.

    Yep...tried it with normal realistic and cartoon

    I showed it with cartoon because it was slick and easiest to see.

    With a changelog of 327 entries, something had to go wrong eventually. That was a really large update, but i\'m sure Schema will find out what\'s wrong with that, assuming he can reproduce it for a bug report.

    I doubt it is a \"bug\" so much as a wrong texture /wireframe for an entity.

    tihs annoying bug, not just with the distorted pentas, but also the screwed up lighting with them, has existed ever since they came out.

    You did notice lots of those are double entries right? for instance 12 are about shadows alone, 5 are about shaders and 16 about the ai characters!

    It looks like someone was playing around with that frame and just didn\'t delete it.

    I\'m getting the same glitch on my pentas on the left side of the ship. It\'s a bit frustrating - though not as much as my overclock failing and causing my pc to freeze after 10 minutes of starmade.

    Okay, finally got some minutes to check it.

    In fact there is a lightning bug on them, that should be caused by normals facing inwards. (Someone working in 3D-modeling told me about the possible source of this behaviour in dark/bright)

    But in fact all planes are perfect matching on my computer.
    I built a small cube with 3 axis mirroring in \'odd sym\' mode.

    In this case light is very odd, but the plane fits together.

    They also work perfect.

    (The missing 3 corner meet point capped by tetra was also fine, but not worth a screenshot)



    Cant really reproduce the problem, to be honest, sure its not just a misunderstanding in the way they fit?
    Maybe send a blueprint of the wrong oriented thing?

    I was on a private server with a friend and I made a shape like that in testing the new shapes. It looked great to me, but to my friend it looked misaligned.

    Just trying to help.

    The shape is right but the texture often moves irregularly on certain faces [EDIT: namely, the missing-tetra-face] of the pentas.

    So like the \"hull\" lines will match when looking from one side, but if I rotate around 90 deg., they mismatch really oddly.

    Maybe there\'s a loose end somewhere that\'s only affecting the rendering on certain equipment.

    The world model is bugged in at least one orientation. There are quite a few graphical bugs that still need to be squashed with these new blocks. The new blocks still do not interact with shadows properly as well as sometimes having invisible sides or making a block next to them see through.
