Block animations (and the lighting changes they cause) cause a great deal of FPS lag. It would help reduce FPS lag if there were an option to disable animations. This would allow lower-end computers to run star-made properly, and would be especially helpful with preventing lag when building/around large ships. As an example of the horrible FPS lag caused by animations, a large ship I'm building drops me from ~80 FPS to ~4 FPS apparently due to animations.

Suggested a while ago, I completely agree with this notion. This would also help ship builders working on titans as the massive amount of animated shield/power storage blocks can cause unmeasurable lag on computers

It would be cool if there is an option to just disable animation on common blocks, but not on uncommon ones.

uncommon: core, functional (connected?) computers for example.
