"sorry! your graphics card does not have the capabilities to run this game :( you need a graphics card capable of openGL 2.0"

Getting this on a laptop that I know has openGL 2.0 support. Mobile Intel (R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family latest drivers available for the laptop (~2010).

Hmm, Intel is really giving me a hard time. Their default drivers don\'t support what the hardware is capable of, and their drivers are also very buggy. Furthermore there might be a mistake in the error message (it\'s 2.1 that is needed), but a card from 2010 should be easily able to support that, so I son\'t think that makes any difference in this case.
Have you tried updating your driver, and/or sent in a report? What does the windows settings panel say about the card?

The drivers are updated to the latest possible for the laptop in question (there are no driver updates for the particular model past 2010). To whom do you mean in regards to sending a report? For the windows settings panel I assume you mean checking the device manager, but what information are you looking for in particular?

In your starmade folder you will find a an executable call bugandcrashreport
Start the game and when your get the error message, open/run the bug report without closing the error message or starmade.
Enter your email at the top, and a summary of the issue you encounter in the feild below the email, then send it off
Schema will receive a bunch of helpfull info on what java is doing, and why it seems to be having trouble.
