every server you did try ?
get us the log.txt.0 file of one of those failed logins
(remove the .x part and drag and drop it into a posting. log files are in Starmade/logs)

"Closing current client"
This is an account verification error. Close the game and restart it, then use the online play menu to re-register your Username into the Registry.
- At the top of the Online Play screen, write your usename into the field "Ingame Player Name"
- Press "uplink" button.
- It will ask you to write in your Registry Username and Password (the ones you use to log in to the docks).
- When it asks if you wanna "Save the account details on disk" answer yes.
- Retry logging in to a server.
