New display module variables

    Maybe I missed it somewhere, but what are the new variables to show HP and armor HP on the display modules? Just point me in the right direction, thanks.

    I believe that was missed with the update, as there doesnt seem to be any.

    So I didn't miss them completely, that makes me feel better. maybe we can get them off one of the devs. How bout it Saber? Care to share how you got those stats to show up on screen?

    When I say missed with the update, I mean missed as in the thought didnt come to mind as they were adding it into the game (It happened with activating AI in structure tab after the rail update). Would probably be best to poke a Dev about it though yes.

    Well, there are now three curved lines to the left on the HUD, one gold/yellow is shield status, could the other two be what you're looking for, because I actually don't know what those indicate. ;)

    Those are status displays yes, Grey for Armour and green for HP. What he is asking about though, is with the Display blocks. You can do [Shield] (I think that is the format?) and the block will display the current level of shields on the front face. It's moreso desired for RP reasons, but it would be nice to see it expanded to show the other values.

    That's what I'm looking for. It's more for my stations though, as I almost always setup a command center that has displays to show system status.

    It would also help with larger ships since I periodically have faction crew members aboard who manage other systems from the bridge, though with the extra hotbars I could now do that myself from the core. Still nice to have for RP purposes though.

    It would also become very helpful for getting numbers on how much materials we will need to collect to repair said damage once we can do it with something other than credits.

    It should be a simple coding exercise to allow many game variables to be added to display blocks.
    A feature that should be added now rather than later.
    Please add HPs at least.
    Anyone like to see other variables added to display modules and what would they be (ideally already in game).

    The Display Blocks Format button is no longer there, so we don't even have that limited help anymore.

    Anyone like to see other variables added to display modules and what would they be (ideally already in game).
    Incoming wall of text.

    Main:
    Armor / Structure points
    Scanner time until charged (Since it is a passive charge and only one is allowed per ship anyway)
    Scanner effective range (in sectors / distance)
    A true/false if my turrets are trying to shoot something
    A true/false if ship is "under fire"
    Current shield regen rate
    Repair costs (/resource costs if that option is added)
    Number of entities on navigation filter
    Number of hostile entities on navigation
    Number of docked turrets

    Info based on block slaved to the display:
    On/off of a logic block
    Stats/cooldown on weapon comp
    Stats on entity docked to slaved rail
    Charge/rate of jump drive comp
    Number of items in slaved storage
    Current recipe of slaved factory
    Number of enhancers slaved to a factory/refinery/assembler block

    Others:
    Current waypoint coords
    Coords of location jump drive will take you to based on waypoint (Perhaps just add markers on the galaxy map line for that)
    Direction of speed based on X Y Z split of number(IE speed is 29.9 so read out would be 13 | 27 | 0 if moving at a simple angle)
    Current gravity effect rate
    Reboot timer (To know what to expect before it happens and a countdown while its going)
    List of targeted entity's stats (like mass, shields, hp, maybe speed)
    Damage log to list damage of recent hits.
    Pilot name (for RP)
    Distance from system star/wormhole (null if void)
    Number of players aligned to ship (RP)

    I guess I should just post this under suggestions, but a good discussion here first wont hurt.

    While we are talking about displayable information, I should like to see the HUD much more configurable for such things.
    A selection of tickboxes would be nice to turn on/off what is displayed. The current options are poor to say the least.
