My starmade closes on launch

I finish downloading all the stuff for the launcher it's all ready to go then I click start game and it just closes no crash messages or error messages. My java is up to date and I'm not sure what else to do any ideas? thanks.

On a side note I am running windows 8.1 any compatibility issues?
