Mods for starmade?

    The game definitly needs \"creative\" gamemode. But for the moment, if somebody could be able to make a mod like Too Many Items, it would be great, \'cause i\'m getting really bored of all those commands who gets me confused.

    Get added as a Admin, give yourself the plex chests and then give yourself 999999 of all the items, turn the sector into a protected one with spawns off, Creative mode :)

    I think one feature of a modloader program that could grab a lot of support would be the ability to adjust the universe parameters using an easy gui like slider bars. It wouldn\'t be hard at all to have it inject the parameters into the file path on launch with the other mods.

    Once the rapid-fire updates stop and the game gets a little older and more popular, Searge may take it on himself... He\'s already branching out, the MCP website says they\'re considering Cube World.

    A type of world edit would be very nice to create a place for people to spawn into (A giant space station)

    and allowing players to sell to overstokced shops would be nice for preventing admin headaches

    I hope they would put a fast travel or teleporting option later in the game but until then a mod would be cool.

    This game is in Alpha. A lot, and I mean a lot, of the things people want to mod into the game will be added at at a later date. NPC\'s, different weapons, something along the lines of warp, and all that nonsense.



    Different HUD is one of the things I\'d like to see as a texture mod. Just for variety and all.

    Lots of great ideas for malleable games like this come from the modding scene.

    I\'m not saying Schema should devote any time to hacking together an API this early in development; this is the community\'s responsibility, and should never, ever make the developer\'s job harder. But modding in new ideas before they\'re coded into the main game is a fantastic way to get some very valuable playtesting data and implementation prototypes, and it can never start too early.

    So, for those Java experts considering this: don\'t wait! If you\'ve got a great idea, try it out now. Schema might just like what he sees.

    (idk if he\'s still planning the warp drive feature) I think NPC crew would be cool, you could order them to either repair the ship or man guns, etc. :D

    think mods might be better in the final virsion, as mods you want will be un updated and you would get loads of conflicts with new features

    When the game is more stable, will there be the possibility of adding custom planets, maybe with special ores or buildings on it? I know that some planets can spawn with buildings, etc. But I think the ability to edit that and add custom planets/space stations or change their spawn rate would be a cool addition.

    I love the game and I support it and mods are good idea even for a early start!

    (I remember a handful when Minecraft was still in alpha)

    My idea for one is to add Stargates, Like the ones in stargate galactica.

    A buildable item you can build on planet\'s/space station and hey maybe some on a ship? I would love to put up stargates on planets I visit to visit them later, I would also like to be able to escape my ship by using one.

    Maybe this is a good idea? maybe we\'ll have something similar put in game, I would love that. Even more so that I am a huge fan of stargate galactica!

    I really like these idea\'s. I have already started brainstorming some mods for my server.

    I really like the idea of stargates, ones we can make small for people on planets and ones we can make large for ships to pass through. With a menu system when accessed where you can choose the destination creating a temporary 1 way wormhole for 15 seconds(adjustable)

    I also really want to see custom starbases (pirates also) and custome planets added to the game, mod or no mod.

    I think you should leave moding for a while until the game reaches a version like beta perhaps, but some ideas here are pretty nice

    Schema\'s plans for modding involve waiting until the game\'s code isn\'t so fluid and obfuscated. That will most likely be sometime during beta. Schema has said in interviews that he wants modding to be a central facet of Starmade, and plans for modding to be built right into the game! Want a mod? Well, you won\'t have to worry about stuff like Bukkit.

    guys guys guys, and girls. you don\'t have to point out that it is to early to make mods for starmade more then once, there is no one that argues against you so help develop the thread instead.

    It would be nice to be able to create a mod that would allow a player to connect through to a galactic bank via a bank module so I can save my credits. Mods make things better, that is all.



    Anyway, people who are afraid of mods should stick to consoles, and sell their PC\'s.

    Think thats bad? try playing the game without using any cheats to the point where you can buy an amazing ship you downloaded only to be attacked by pirates and the cosmetic stuff be the easy bit, you\'re F\'d if they hit any of the actual power, weapons, etc. if you don\'t know how it all works, eventually it gets to the point where you have to abandon your beloved ship :\'(
