You know, so you can make auto-pilot systems.

or even warheads that actually work well.

No more of that push-beam shat.

In short, master activation block being activated causes slave thruster to activate and thrust only forward.

    defensive push effect does that.
Activate a push effect computer on the ship you want to move, and it'll recieve a pulse of forward thrust.

It sure would be neat to link thruster groups to push computers directly.... Then, not only do you have a logic-controlled thruster system, but also a weakpoint during combat that can take out that group of thrusters entirely. Which will be cool when individual computers can be targeted in combat some day... maybe.

Well there is a way to make push effect constant but it takes several correctly timed clocks to pull it off. Or a single rotational clock but those take up a lot of space. Also with logic you can't make the linked thing activate 100% full auto even if you tried so this would end up with the same result as the push effect clocks.

Can you face a push comp to change the direction you go yet? So you're not limited to just forward.

Not sure docked objects with active push effects don't have any affect on the main object either. Now I know you can use push beams to change direction though.

Autopilot should be a built-in feature, not a huge, bulky thing that adds a lot of mass to your ship. We shouldn't need effects, and probably shouldn't need logic.
