So I decided to build a very nice-all-rounder 20k block turret.
Its equipped with 2 powerful can-can-punch cannons, an array of can-missiles (for pd saturation), a heavy ion seige laser and 4 powerful lock on missiles.
First of all I started having problems with the turret rotation.... when I used the turrent rotation was fine for me, however in test it would just spin around aiming at empty space or not fire at all. So I went and replaced the embeded turret rotation with one on the side. This seemd to fix things up and it performed very well against stationary targets.
However, I encounterd a problem when I tested it agginst AI targets: It could not hit anything UNLESS it was stationary.
So I thought 'thats odd' and went to my SP server settings and changed the 99% accuracy from 10m to 800m and spawned a large ship 200 m away.
Unfortunatly, the turret would just fire slightly BEHIND the moving ship even though it was right in front of it and only moving at 10-20 m/s.
I left it for a minute and it didnt hit the slowly moving AI ship once!!!!!!! (Not for lack of trying though).
The lock ons were fine, but the cannons would always be fired right behind the moving ship, thus not hitting it.
Ive checked and the turrent rotation is fine, I have enough power and mass enhancers but for somereason the cannons have the worst aiming ive ever seen :/
Am I doing something wrong? Is this a bug?? Are turrets really this useless?\Please help me guys :,(
