I'm just getting into this game. I want to make a large ship but the recipe for the basic grey armor blocks that you start with requires fertikeen capsules? Are there any ship hull blocks I can make with just metal mesh and crystal composite?
Unfortunately not. This is a massive mistake by Schine imo. You can use rocks and such but these lack the shapes of hull.I'm just getting into this game. You of all people should know your wiki is not properly up to date, Duke.
They do have a bot that does that. However duke/schema have the keys to it. Wish they would use it every update that adds/changes blocks. You of all people should know your wiki is not properly up to date, Duke.
A system where the wiki pulls the recipes directly from the most up to date version of the game would be a good idea.
Agreed. The basic requirements for resource gathering should require ONLY basic components.Unfortunately not. This is a massive mistake by Schine imo.

Glass doors do not take fertikeen but they are transparent so they may not fulfill your needs properly. They do function as actual armor however.

schema needs to update the bot, unfortunately. If it was run now, it would break the wiki. We recreated the wiki templating system so that it would be easy to simply run a bot to update all info. Just that bot needs to be updated. They do have a bot that does that. However duke/schema have the keys to it. Wish they would use it every update that adds/changes blocks.
We set up large scale factories.I feel like I'd need to buy out 20-30 shops to reach a million basic armor blocks. How are people getting into the millions?
You should not be building ships at that scale until you have a homebase and factories anyway. Once you have an HB, you can claim a sector which will give you a mining bonus. Then focus on getting some logistics chambers for your miner which will give you an even bigger mining bonus. With both bonuses in place you should be getting 10-100k ore per asteroid depending on asteroid size and what server you are on. Each ore produces 5 capsules; so, you only need to hit a few asteroids to get those 1million blocks, but you will find this very easy to do since you will need way more than 1 million capsules of other types to arm said ships with weapons and chambers etc. Thanks for the info you guys. My first fertikeen asteroid didn't give me much fertikeen. I think it was either around 1,500 or 15,000 - I'm not at home to check.
There's no shortage of shops in my single player universe. What I ended up doing was selling some useless terrain blocks, which actually got me quite a bit of money. I was then able to fly around to shops buying out all colors of all basic armor blocks (around 3-4k per shop per color). This didn't even put a dent in the amount of money I made from selling terrain.

Factory makes 1 item per tic. Every Factory Enhancer you slave to it increases the number of items produced per tic by 1.
A factory with 999 enhancers makes 1,000 blocks each tic. Same applies to your capsule refinery.
So yeah, we make big miners, eat entire systems, and use mega-factories to churn blocks out 1k, 10k, even 100k at a time.
You can also make a HELL of a lot more money by producing finished goods to sell to shops as opposed to selling rock or raw mats. Even just a 100x or a 10x factory churning out weapon modules or computers will make you rich in no time.
