    Hello guys,

Since the last two updates I seem to have lost all performance.
Instead of over 200 and up to 300 frames I get less than 30 frames even in an empty sector.
And I have not set the limiter on.

Is there a new setting I have missed or is it something to do with Java perhaps?

IIRC, using Vsync in game locks FPS to 30, try disabling it and seeing if it works.

    Thanks for the tip.

It is not the solution though.
I have noticed once that I also get 30 frames if I play on battery, but I am not doing that at the moment.

Some more testing it is then!!

    New information here.

My problem seems to be with the old launcher that is launched without steam.

The steam version has no lost frames (not with the new launcher at least).

    Battery?
    Sounds like dual-gpu setup.

Old launcher will most likely not work properly then, unless you add javaw.exe to the "execute with: High performance GPU" list.
But it may in general work better then to use the new launcher in both situations.
As it provides a built in java, you only need to add it 'once' to the nvidia control center to execute with high performance GPU.
The "old launcher" version needs adjustments every java update, and usually automatic updates downgrade to a 32bit java install.
(That could explain the low FPS for example - if not using the integrated video card in the first place, due to the changed java location.)

    Thank you Andy,

I will see if I can get both to work!
My setup should automatically use my NVidea GPU so I guess I need to check the Java command line.

    Make sure to add:
    <path to SteamLibrary>\steamapps\common\StarMade\dep\java\jre1.7.0_80\bin\javaw.exe
to the programs to execute with GPU for steam.

For the old launcher you need to get the exact installed 64bit java installation /bin directory and point to the javaw.exe.
