I recently had some issues with my Starmade game, so I uninstalled it and re installed a newer version, thinking the bugs would be fixed in the updates. The old version I was using was v.0.1885 and the new version was v.0.189997. The new version was causing flickering textures, so I updated all my graphics drivers to see if that was the issue, but it still happened. I tried uninstalling it again and reinstalling with the backup files, and the issue went away. I used the same settings on both versions. Is this an issue with the update, or is there a way I could fix this? My pc uses Intel Integrated graphics and a dedicated NVidia card. I believe I have the NVidia card set to be used for games, but I can't figure out how to check. Anyone know how to fix it?

there is a setting under the Nvidia Controll center to excetute java.exe with the Nvidia card instead the Intel one.

    See point 2 here -> https://starmade.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/5000543135-unusual-bad-game-performance

If everything is not solving the problem,
Please add settings.cfg (from starmade folder), graphcisinfo.txt and recent log.txt.x file (from starmade/logs folder) here.
also tell us about your hardware and OS ... CPU -GPU -Ram size -OS Version 64bit?

It isn't anything with my computer. I used the backup files and updated, and I never had the problem. I'm guessing some files are not being installed when one starts clean. I've been comparing the files of my updated backup files and the newly installed ones side by side, but I haven't seen any differences so far. Both have the settings.cfg, and I don't see a graphicsinfo.txt in either. No idea what is causing it, but I'll keep trying to find it. Could someone see if they can replicate this by deleting their starmade folder (or just move it to a different folder) and reinstall from scratch using v.0.189997? I can't figure it out, but my game is working somewhat with the backup files (I still need to find out what I did to cause the bugs and glitches that led me to try reinstalling to begin with, but the game is still playable (just a bit annoying to use at times)).

Sorry, I read your post wrong and looked in the wrong spot. Here is the graphics file from the reinstall, but the others won't upload. Error message says "The uploaded file does not have an allowed extension." How do I upload the others? I'll be away for the next five days, so please try to reply today if you can.
[DOUBLEPOST=1426090708,1426090265][/DOUBLEPOST]Just a side note; I'm sure you didn't mean this, but the way you worded your last post seemed to have a sarcastic or somewhat insulting tone to me at first. Could just be the way I read, or I'm just being dumb, but maybe don't start with "You do realize..." Like I said, it's probably just me seeing things in a post that aren't there, but some people might not like how you said that if they interpret it in the wrong way like I did at first. I'm not trying to be rude, so sorry if I seem to be. If you think I'm being stupid, just ignore my comments on how you word your posts.

just change the ending to .txt they are both textfiles anyway .

i am german ... we often sound rude i was told ... even if we are not trying to be rude.
sarcastic .. yes ... that might totally be the case ... it is one of my character flaws ;) sorry. it wasnt my intention to make you feel bad.

from your graphics info i can see the game is indeed executed through the Intels CPU grafics core.
to switch to the nvidia gpu for java try

"If you have another graphics-card in your computer, tell your computer to execute java via GPU only. (In the case of NVidia cards you can do this in the "NVidia Control center")
Adding "javaw.exe" to program list in control center and setting it to 'GPU only' usually fixes startup crashs and lower than average FPS,"

sorry cant tell you exactly how to do that, i only use AMD cards at the moment.
we then have to find someone that can verify what kind of settings are working best for your Nvidia GPU version. (What kind of GPU is it? eg 860M)

Wow, dumb Intel graphics. I set NVidia to always be used when I first got my computer, or so I thought. When I pulled up the NVidia control panel, it said under 3d settings> manage 3d settings> global settings that the preferred graphics was the NVidia. I checked under program settings and all my games were set to use the global setting (NVidia). In global, I set it to auto select, applied, then set it back to NVidia, applied, and it was all fixed. Apparently it said it was set to use NVidia, but it was actually using the Intel integrated graphics. Don't know why. Thanks for your help, and I understand. I have a german friend, and we get into ridiculous fights at times because I think he ment something different than what he actually said. It's all good man. Thanks for your help.

Just one thing; Isn't there a way to close a thread now? I can't seem to find it anywhere.
[DOUBLEPOST=1426094798,1426094662][/DOUBLEPOST]What really confuses me still is that my old StarMade wouldn't have this problem even though I'm sure they both used the same graphics settings.

only an moderator can close a forum thread afaik.

could you please upload those settings.cfg you did use here anyway ? ... we are trying to colect info on that Intel problem and that settings.cfg file maybe usefull when compared to those of others. just rename a copy of that file to .txt and you should be able to add it here. Thank you

You got a problem because there is a problem with Intel GPUs in the newer builds i believe.
Oh and one more question .. what OS are you using? Win 8.1 maybe ?

64 bit windows 8.1. I had to put ( ) around it cause it wouldn't let me change it to .txt. I'm still kind of new to windows 8.
Since I don't trust myself to copy the info correctly, here are some pics of my computer specs. screens. 1 is in system, 2 is in GeForce Experience, and 3 is in the Intel(R) Driver Update Utility 2.0. If you absolutely need some of the info I blocked to fix these things, I might give it to you. I'm just overprotective of my information.
