Was this ever addressed? As I see a sea of points for all the cores for all the turrets on my station. Wanting to disable the ones that 'dont matter' (all the neck ships!).

Yup! Just press N and click Navigation Filter, Uncheck Turrets and Docked, and you're good to go. =)

Oh my god this is an old thread.
I was about to start yelling that the nav filter does this already, but then I checked the dates.

Haha, sorry for the necro, it was the only one I could find while searching for it.

And yeah, N and toggling off turrets and docked, seems to do the trick! Odd how I didn't find that before, but, now I know.

It's no problem, dude. You did the right thing, and I respect that. Way better than posting a whole new thread.

might I add an idea to the navigation filter

Hiding certain parts from public eyes

now with the whole rail system we can have all these moving parts on our ships
but some are just doors or injectors that have no IA unit attached
yet these moving parts are shown in the navigation filter
but I don't always want people to find doors or injectors..
    with turrets I can understand

is it possible to add some new type of block to a *non AI* *still attached to a ship* object to disable its diamond
and only becomes a diamond when it gets detached from the ship or station
and while its linked it relays its weight to the ship its attached to

this to deny peeking into a ships makeup

hope you don't mind me adding this idea to this existing post

That's actually a really good idea, having an additional option for filtering out turret pieces or non ai entities. Gonna ad that to the OP.

Yeah it really bugs me that docked moving parts are treated the same as docked ships or fixed guns. I always have docked entities until I specifically need to target a docked ship, and then it's just a mess if that ship also has any rail components such as doors or spiny bits.
