Crazy. The thread has two pages, I go to bed. I get up, the thread has 8 pages. I see that we're all friends again, but there's still stuff I want to point out.

I think one of the concerns (apart from the medium used) was that MF are fed with information that are not available anywhere else. For instance, I (as a tester) did not know about Galaxies. It was also unclear to me how the hyperdrive was supposed to work exactly (yes, I read the respective thread). This may be because I never bothered to get a direct line to you, but that doesn't change anything.


No. I for one do not like watching videos for information at all. And I like it even less when my ears are bombarded with loud techno music (seriously—I dance and can therefore put up with much, but not this crap) that I can't even turn down.

Okay. Is it fixed now that we get written updates? If there is no one that wants to do that, I could, but I prefer not to. I already have too much on my plate—I'm even neglecting testing. :p

Its fine that you do not want to watch MF. But a lot of the negativity was towards them because they do not produce news based videos. Its entertainment based. For some reason everyone thinks they are meant to be news based. Tomino stated in this thread that he would be willing to change formats and he even recently started work on a more interesting news format in-game. The thing is we all come to the forums to bitch about it, when we could have easily asked him to make a smoother episode for update videos. Again, he was never there to be the official news person.

Only in the past month have people been pushing for update threads/blogs this hard and there are people working on it now thanks to that. To be honest I think people should just pay attention more. I heard a new universe design was going to be worked on almost a month ago. If you want to find that information you kinda have to dig because frankly I don't think schema is telling people for the purpose of letting that information out. It's more to get a few quick bits of feedback before he starts really working on it.

I think I stated it elsewhere, but if schema released bits of information to just random people, we would have threads popping up all over the place claiming they knew what features were going to be implemented. He already stated why he doesn't do the blog thing and at least MF would be a consistent source for that info regardless of preference.

Either way, I guess we will be getting some community driven news every week now. Not sure how well it will please everyone but at least it will let people learn a bit more about the game development and what the community is up to.

3. we'll get more concise, clear news
