The Light Cruiser exterior is coming along nicely, I might start work on an Armoured Cruiser later tonight after I've added atleast 10 crew capacity to the light cruiser


I've also added another 8 small weapons platforms on the Light Cruiser, bringing the total amount to 28, 8 main weapons and 20 small weapons.
I'm not sure if the Lantean "light" cruiser ever got a name in the show, I'll have to look into it. It only appeared in 1 scene from what i can remember so i very much doubt it, in which case i guess i'll have to come up with something

Light Cruiser is done, settled on bastardising the latin word for avenger, which apperently is what the cruiser seen in that one scene was called in the extended(?) cannon, idk how i feel about it tho so i could change it





Anyway(for now, maybe) this is the Lantean Vintac-class Light Cruiser, the backbone of any black-skies capable navy.
What can't it do? Cloak, and mostly all the other things. Except FTL-travel and scanning. Although it does have a configureable stealth drive, not enough for cloaking but it's there.
Outfitted with a interstellar Hyperdrive and powefull sub-space sensors capable of providing intel on neaby ships. It has a crew capacity of 10, including the captain and first-officer who get comfortable crew quarters. Forgot to add toilets and crew showers, I'll fix that now.

The work on the armoured cruiser will be slow



Reason: It looks so much like a pp
It may take a while before i'm happy with the shape, perhaps if it curved just ever so slightly...
It's quite small at 432 metres, but i'm sure it has a great personality

It looks better now that I've atleast outlined the general shape of the engines, although i might take 40-80m off the front since it looks a little too long atm. That could also just be because it lacks the sensor pod things on the sides

Better shape, but smaller(still huge dw), more reasonable size tbh

Where has this thread been while ive been looking for inspiration to start playing again? This is a genuinely wonderful buildstyle/artstyle and I honestly wish that I had managed to come up with something as neato as this.

Uhh.. I may have overlooked the other new blocks at first, i was too mesmerized by the raw power and presence emenating from the beige armour

Anyway, hive now has an innefficient slow hyperdrive and better armour


And I've planned out point defense weapons for it since Lantean drones and darts are going to be the main threat for them

Reflecting on the size of the heavy cruiser for a couple of weeks; maybe it's still too long AND also too tall, there's a chance I tear it in half and start over from whichever side I think is the best. idk tho

I've had my thinking cap on for quite a while now. Decided to cut it in half and also redesign the pods so they look better, still WIP on those diagonal fucks



The underside isn't as flat as it was before, its still flat just not AS flat. There is still another structure supposed to extend further down to add, but I'm busy with the front bulb thing.
