Damage delt by NPC goes through shields.

    I was attacked by a large group of pirates whos damage almost all glitched though my shields, i have 10k regen with over 60k shields and it never got below 3/4 shileds. i didn't see any damage taken, left, came back and half the ship was missing, holes blown throught the hull and other major damage. The trading guild also does this but i usuially don't fight them so it is not as bad.

    I can tell that this isn't suposed to hapen because in pvp it does not.

    I have enough power to sustain this also, i have over 60k energy regen.

    please fix!

    I was in my ship, and they do work while your outside of it anyway. i stress tested shields on ships this way, and tested weapons. they work just fine while your not in it.

    What i mean is after the pirates were allready gone, i couldn\'t get into my SD cockpit so i left and rejoined.

    Also, i was in build mode for part of the time, but i do not think that was the problem. i took damage the whole time. and i was attacked later in the same damaged ship while i was repairing, switched to fly mode right away and they did it again. my shields were still up also, never went down.

    Whats the point of making a ship that has that good of shields if damage goes through them?

    Did it look like their shots were missing? A few times I\'ve had pirates shooting at me and appearing to be way off, and I ended up losing hull while my shields appeared intact. I\'m suspecting a miscommunication between server and client - what you see, and assume, is happening is not what is a actually happening on the server.

    These are some fairly strong pirates, and they have pretty much tripple barreled shotguns so it always looks like at least some of the bullets hit. but the shield animations show up.

    It also hapens in single player with entirely differn\'t pirates, so its not just multiplayer, and it isn\'t caused by lag, or shouldn\'t be.

    ps~ will be gone for a week, will reply if i get a chance during that time.

    Was your power capacity just 20k? I think if your shields use more regen then you have storage, then stuff easily goes through them.

    @Racr Your shield regen only reaches over the storage somewhere in the 100 thousands.

    If you really want to know it, I designed the pirates my self.

    I have this issue a lot - and for clarification, your shield level bar on the HP bar can be half full and you\'d still take hull damage.
    Happens a lot - be in a fight and suddenly lose your entire front end because a glitch occurs and the damage passes your shields.

    But is it really a glitch or a feature? Are utterly impenetrable shields unless you out-DPS the enemy regen a good thing? I don\'t think so.

    happened to me too, was flighting a pirate ship and I was at 50% shields.

    Then the pirate launched a missile, and with my shields still up it destroyed my entire ship, and it wasn\'t really a small one either.

    The latest update in starmade nerfed large sheld genrators so they have to recover longer then small ones. the way it works is when your ships shelds are hit it\'s hull is brefly vunable for a secound and starts to very quickly recover. the update gives shelds veray small delay between hits and the delay is dependant on the amount of sheld blocks on a ship or station. so Big powerful shelds now can\'t protect you as well as they used to becuse now shelds only can reduce damage on the hull instead of always blocking shots all the time so a shelds regen rate now is only keeping the shelds from being descharged from contstand actacks but now they just wont\' protect you from all of the shot now they protect you from a few now.

    I think it might have to do with server/client sync issues on shields.

    it is not my power, and even if it was when the shields are still up it shouldn\'t have deamage go through. it would still regen just slower, but this bug sucks. my battleship is pointless, especially with the new shield systems. concidering something with a turret docked on it can not dock...

    your theory is inaccurite, all the new update did was change the way shields work, your shields still are suposed to block 100% of damage untill they are down. the new update made it so that you have to go a few seconds without getting damaged before they start to regen again. it does not affect anything else, damage still shouldn\'t go through. and if it was suposed to then it would in pvp, not just against pirates and the trading guild.

    Thanks for the corection. it was problaly the sheld meter probly was not desplaying the right sheld level and was reading that your shelds were still up when your shelds were in fact were down, of corese i now know shelds now have a delay before they start rechargeing back up. so they won\'t regen if you keep geting hit evrey second

    by enemy weapons fire intead of regenrateing wihle being hit but the max delay cap is like 3 secounds so it might be the lag bettween the server and the cleint. the sheld meter problay coludnot keep up with the actal sheld updates in the game and it\'s more of a gui issue with shelds then a bug.

    i\'m not sure what it is, but i have fought these pirates several times, and only about 90% of the time the damage goes through. with the new update i have over 200k shields, and 6k regen, with a three second delay.

    The shields would go down about half a bar every few seconds, but regen had me covered, i still have this issue now, but the shields don\'t regen. they still do not go down completley, and i can see them go down a bit each time i\'m shot so i\'m not sure if it is the gui. if it is, then great hopefully it\'ll get fixed, if not, hopefully it will still get fixed lol

    Lag spikes should probably be a higher priority for now, they make multiplayer unplayable.

    I\'m new, and play singleplayer mostly, and my biggest ship (15 thousand blocks) takes hull damage even when shields never go down. My smaller ships have the same problems sometimes. I can\'t see my own ship very well during a fight because I place the cockpits directly over the forward facing cannons, and use those while pewpewing. The few times I have watched my hull during the fight, it doesn\'t seem to take damage. Then I step out and there\'s a bunch of missing blocks. I\'m not sure if I just didn\'t see the damage being done, but I only ever notice it after I dock and leave the ship. I don\'t see it (or at least don\'t notice) while docking after a fight, when I use cockpits with a better view.
