Bug Critical Error UnknownHostException: files.star-made.org

Hey All,

So I'm having issues getting StarMade working properly on my Laptop. Whenever I start the game up I get the following error:

Critical Error:

UnknownHostException: files.star-made.org

To get information about a possible fix,
please search for yoru error in the www.star-made.org forums
or make a new topic if not found.

If this message is about a File not Found, please try to repair or reinstall with your launcher

So I can continue past the error message and play the game fine locally. But it can't check for updates nor can I link my account. So it seems to have a problem connecting to the star-made servers. I've disabled and ported my firewalls to no avail. StarMade works fine on my desktop.

are you able to open http://files.star-made.org/build on your laptop in a browser window?
are you using launcher version 15 ?

it sounds more like your laptop gets blocked from accessing that server somehow

I am using launcher v15 and I can access http://files.star-made.org/build just fine via browser. :/

so .. in the Launcher Options&Repair -> Search newest -> Force Download all & Overwrite is not doing anything ?
Running the Launcher as Admin (right click -> run as admin) ?

otherwise i am realy out of ideas here

You can easily fix this guys!! All you have to do is disable your firewall. It is stopping Starmade from downloading the latest versions, disable it tempoririy or make an exception, run as administrator and BAM. Merry Christmas
