HMMMMM, perhaps another good suggestion, have the beacon maybe manifest a message in real space if you are close enough to it to read it?

Yep, as soon as you start asking for someone to recognize it, they either ignore it or don't see it

Life is funny that way, sometimes

Anyways, yeah, I think having broadcast beacons would be great for like trade stations, or even shops

Cause that way, if any shop overhaul happens, and there is like an 'item of the day' or something, it will broadcast it so people don't have to fly to the shop to see what it is, merely just pass by it and go on until you find what you are looking for.

I don't really see it working as a good way for chat though, cause there are already lots of configurations for chat menus already, and it could potentially cause some problems in the future, like spam and people you don't want hearing it listening in on it, even though we already have ways to counteract that nowadays.

If that is not what you guys were talking about, then I'm sorry I must have read something wrong, but that was my take on this whole conversation.

Yep this might come in handy, now all we need is a dev summoning system and we're good to go. :P

Updated the OP to show what ideas we've discussed so you don't have to read the whole thread to get the jist of things.
