BPs would likely still exist as a means of saving to the catalog and trading with others but at some point we'll be forced to use shipyards to spawn ships outright from a BP. o.o

I don't think there is any real opposition. One person got a little bent out of shape about it, everyone else seems to appreciate the idea. I'm hoping the dev team looks into doing this, honestly. Assuming that BPs aren't going away completely anytime soon, of course.
