Anyone checked out the '/creature'-commands?

    So i've been fooling around lately and i saw that there were some new (I think they got added with the new tutorial) '/creature'-commands.
    There are:
    • "/creature_sit" and "/creature_stand_up"
    • "/creature_animation_start" and "/creature_animation_stop".
    • "/creature_animation_start UPPERBODY_GUN_MEELEE loop 1 true". We'll get meele guns!
    • "/creature_animation_start DEATH_FLOATING loop 1 true". Awesome death animation in space!
    • "/creature_animation_start DEATH_GRAVITY loop 1 true". Awesome death animation in gravity!
    • After not even 5 minutes of playing around with animations:
    • "/creature_rename" - Admins now can rename the trader!
    • "/creature_script" - Whoaaa! We can bind a lua script to a NPC. Quick people! Make awesome scripts!
    Thank you schema for these commands! But sadly we still don't have a way to set a skin for NPC (server sided). May the next update be with us!

    Yay! Can finally put the NPC guy at spawn. He didn't appear there at the universe creation and the ones in the unprotected sectors all seem to get killed.

    Hang on- we can actually program our NPCs already? How extensive is this function? What kind of I/O abilities do we have? How complex scripts can we insert? What's the input method besides chat?

    After one and a half year pf requesting this, finding it like this is somewhat anticlimatic.

    When did you start that universe? (Also multiplayer, right?)

    For the online server, when the new galaxy system was added.

    Have made many test universes on the test server and it seems random whether I get one at spawn or not. Never had the issue listed in bug#998 while creating the new universe.

    Imagin space bars full of these:

    "/creature_animation_start DANCING_GRAVITY loop speed* true"
    * The left one has speed set to 2 and the right one is a really fast dancer: speed is set to 4 for him. You can also type in numbers like 0.00001 or 2.06125

    The script changed in the last version (v0.1867) and the NPC Trader doesn't sell helmets, tools and hand weapons anymore!

    Now he's kinda like a piece of useless furniture who has obvious information, sells crew that most players can't work out how to use (which end up scattered around the shop), and offers missions that don't exist. What happened?

    hmmm. Melee attacks, Death Animations, DANCING!?

    the future is looking very bright in terms of players actions. But still no sprint

    was messing around with the Animations. looks like theres a ton of them.

    theres even a talk (TALK_SALUTE) and a Saluting (SALUTES_SALUTE) animation

    also ive found that the DEATH_GRAVITY animation makes a really good sleeping/resting animation, if you can position it right

    did a little more experimenting. Turns out there is a sprinting animation, even one for crawling too. However they appear to be a WIP since activating them only causes the NPC to walk in place slowly

    also ive found out that you can change the NPC skins by replacing some files in your starmade folder

    also if anyone is wondering how do you make the NPCs put on their helmets the command is /creature_animation_start HELMET_ON dont_loop 1 true. to make them take it off just type /creature_animation_start HELMET_OFF dont_loop 1 true

    I knew about the NPC skin replacement, but the helmet command is new to me. This is really awesome on so many levels. Sprinting is almost a requirement for any game, but the crawling will open up new design possibilities and further compacting of ships. Get ready to see more ships with crawlspaces and ventilation systems.
