The following I conclude when I was rebuilding the turret systems on one of my ships.
The AI seems to be confused what to do when a weapon system has a slaved system of the same type. Meaning cannon slaved to cannon or beam slaved to beam.
When the system fires it fires the master and slave systems separately instead of applying the effect to the master system.
This does not seem to happen when the slaved system is of a different type. Meaning cannon slaved to beam.
The strangest thing of all is that it only happens when the AI is in control. If I hop into the turret myself and fire it manually the systems work as they should.
Also I suspect this only applies to turrets or ships with multiple systems. A small turret with a single cannon slaved to cannon system seems to work fine with AI.
Anyone else encountered this problem?
