I did the upgrade via the launcher. Afterwards I launched a session on the ignite server. The screen came up, but right when it hit 100%, I got a critical error NullPointerException: null.

I revert back to the previous version, then upgrade again. Same thing.

I update java to the latest, 64-bit, then tried playing single player. Same thing.

I can't find any forum posts about this issue, so here I am...

    Try the following:
    Update java
    create a clean new directory

and in case you got the nullpointer exception with that big errormessage telling you to update your video drivers:
    - just do it

in case its just a small notice without big information:
    - update video driver

I have uninstalled java completely and deleted the folder. Then I reinstalled a clean, 64-bit version.

I updated the video drivers for my GeForce GTX 660M, which ran the previous versions just fine.

    I rebooted the machine.

I am willing to blow out and reinstall starmade from scratch as long as I can find where my ship blueprints are kept. But otherwise, I still cannot play. I am getting this:

delete everything in the /logs folder in your starmade directory.
Then please start the game one time, and hit \'exit\' in the message.
Now please zip and send me the complete /logs directory.
It should be in there why this happens.

AndyP, I got it working. After 1 more install, I still had the same problem. I finally copied my blueprints folder out and completely wiped the starmade folder and the starmade launcher. Then i went to the site and did a windows install and that seemed to do it. So, in summary, the game-launched upgrade had issues, a complete delete of the folder and install from scratch seems to work. I wish I had seen your message so that I could have saved the logs before wiping the folder.

    Appreciate the time and response!
