Advanced Build mode Suggestions

1) A line tool; I think I speak for a lot of people when I say starmade needs a tool where you select two points and a guide appears helping to make better angles on ships.

2) Sphere tool; simple, like the circle tool but makes sphere guides

3) A locked Ctrl key would also be nice because holding it isn't that fun or any fun at all.

The following are unrelated but I think would also improve our experience in the game:

4) Upload Image Option for factions; this would allow a faction leader to upload a image for their faction and would need an admins approval to keep it, it could be like a flag on a station or a poster on the faction module front. But if you (developers) do decide implementing this please don't add a small image limit like 512 * 512px
instead leave it open to server options

5) Personal image upload, this one would be fine as a small compressed image like the 512*512 but might require a new "image block"

6) Dumb request but this one would make many people happy: Place-able/hold-able food items, Donuts, Pizza, Pie, Bacon, and for the plant eaters: salad and fruits and Pie

7) Captains Chair, this wouldn't get rid of cores but would make their placement a lot less stressful on larger ships, it shouldn't be a necessary placement but should be a new way to pilot your ship.

you can already make spheres with the ellipsoid build helper just set x y and z to the same thing and voila sphere

A good guide for lines is using linked logic blocks. Since it draws a 'line' between the 2 blocks, it's simple enough to follow it.

I would rather people just generalize their threads to include all suggestions they can think of. We really don't need 40 threads about captains chairs, as people have already suggested before.

It is something we want just as much as the community. We already have ideas for how they would be used (possibly in ways you might not think!) but as it is not a complete thought we will not be talking about it until we are sure of their incorporation.

Yeah, but when I see a suggestion for advanced build mode improvements, I don't expect a majority of the things suggested to not relate to ABM.

It'd help if we had a thread with "frequent suggestions" to cut down on threads about captain's chairs.

I've done this and was going to suggest it as well. Sometimes you can also select a block with C and it will draw a line from the block you are looking at to the one you selected but it doesn't make a very good guide.

I've seen forums that have the exact opposite as a rule. Suggestions can ONLY have one topic per thread instead of wish lists. Of course creating 40 threads all suggesting the same thing is a different issue all together.

Just title the thread "suggestions". I really don't mind reading a lot in one place. It gets absurd trying to respond to a dozen individual threads. There is no rule against it.

I think and don't take this the wrong way but its probably better if people who have "wishlists" just put it all in one thread ... that way people can just glance over 1 thread instead of 3 or 7 or a dozen, you know.

Image uploading would get out of hand very, very quickly. I can guarantee that within the first hour of the feature being online, someone would spam porn all over a major server's spawn area.

That could work, though there would need to be limits in place for it beyond just that. Some sort of cap on image uploads per day/week/whatever.

1 Extrude Where you select the edge of something and extend it to whatever distance you need.
2 Duplicate and stack. Stack can be up,down,left,right, forward and reverse. It makes duplicating items and putting them down a million times faster.
