    hi ho guys, i searched and found nothing realy usefull.

    every post i found says change player_max_build_area = 10 to something else (100)
    So i did that but it does not work on my server, every time i connect , it is 10,10,10.

    I created a new world , so changed it with the ingame gui settings , it was working ingame (local) i close the game and ( i checkt the server.cfg befor and settings are correct my case 100) started the server with setting that should work. BÄM same again server does not load the correct server.cfg settings, 10,10,10.

    why does it not work .

    sry for my english.

    are you running server and client on the same PC ? .. from the same install ?

    than that isnt working ... because it uses the same config files for both.
    you either have to use a seperate install for server and client or use the local play option to start your server (that one then will use the server.cfg file)
    and you cant have the game running while making changes to the config files.

    These are 2 diffrent installations , server and pc

    192.168.0.2 = PC
    192.168.0.5 = Server

    both diffent installations
    i created the server on PC (Local settings worked fine with 100x100,100).
    i copied the folder to my server and started it. does not worked.
    (downloaded version (guest) on server), i play with steam version.

    you did copy the server-database folder only ? the server.cfg is located in the games install folder ... you have to copy it there too then on the server.
    sorry if i do missunderstand you there now.

    My path's could be different but maybe this works.

    The server.cfg file from your PC located in:

    .../SteamLibrary/SteamApps/common/StarMade/server.cfg

    Place it in the Path where you installed StarMade on the server. Probably the same path.

    I am assuming here you copied the StarMade Launcher directory and not the StarMade folder. Or you placed the StarMade folder in the Launchers directory. I use the old Launcher so not sure if the new Launcher has a directory of it's own.

    nono , i started the game-laucher from the downloaded server and configured it, closed it and copyed the hole launcher folder to the server, becouse i cant start as user i need to use start as administrator. so it is the same launcher.
    is it possible , the "demo" launcher cant be moddet ?

    there is no difference between the Demo and Full game version at this time.

    you have copied the whole install folder of the launcher ... and you had the install path for the Game set to somewhere inside that launcher path then too?
    would look like this
    Screenshot_7.jpg

    and you have to make sure that the Path to the starmade install here is the same as in your local install .. because the path where to find the game is stored in .cache and its the one you did chosse on your local PC. if that isnt the same the launcher will create a new game install at that given path on your server then again.
