have you tried connecting to other servers than just that one? It may be on their side, as I have no problem what so ever. You should try going to the server forum, and find a random one to connect to. If that does not work, try renaming the starmade folder, and running the updater again.

So what you are saying is that when using the gui version of the server loader, no one can connect. But when you use the bat file provided, everyone can connect just fine? From what i know, you are supposed to use the actual bat file, or is it just me?
