I rounded my figure to the nearest whole number. You did that and then doubled it. We're agreeing to disagree on this or you can try to convince a brick wall for all the fucks I give.
I was going by slightly newer figures and if you re-read you'll see I actually attributed about $10billion...
Yes. It's called lying. It's what you did with welfare expenditure as a proportion of GDP.
I provided my sources, and any idiot with a calculator can verify what I said. Care to do the same?
I disagree, it's pretty simple. I'd say doubling a figure is inaccurate, you consider that acceptable. I wouldn't complain if you rounded to the nearest whole figure, which isn't that hard if you're not trying to misrepresent your source. Shit like this only causes mistrust and loss of...
Very true.
The USA is the country most commonly referenced in comparison to Australia in my experience, so the statement was purely subjective.
That was kinda my point, Australia is no closer to being a true socialist state than Sweden, we do both incorporate many aspects of socialism...
Last complete financial year's welfare expenditure was $146bil.

GDP was $1454bil. My figures were slightly off as I was going by the previous years GDP which was about 100bil higher, but still, extremely close to 10%

I wouldn't usually try to bring anything remotely relating to politics into a game forum, but actually living in Australia and knowing how much misinformation you're putting out I have to amend a few things.
If you're in the highest tax bracket in Australia you pay 30% tax on your first $180,000...
I should apologise for arguing earlier, I hadn't even noticed the doubled regen at the time and should have had my facts straight first. I agree that it is a bit too much.
That looks much better.
Just wait til you try to transport cargo. My miner had 1.5 hours worth of asteroid mining spoils, 600-700k of standard armour and maybe another 200k of systems blocks in it's storages. Ship is about 20k mass. cargo is about 25k of mass.
Trouble with that is you're trying to dictate how people play a sandbox game. some people want to build ships to a larger scale so you can achieve a decent level of detail etc.
It comes down to opinion I guess, I've been playing multiplayer with 2mil softcap for months, and in my experience when you design ships with that in mind you soon find plenty to use up the excess power on and find yourself wishing you had a higher softcap. We may as well agree to disagree.
I don't, considering that now cargo now adds mass and requires empty space and the main point of combat in the game at present is to loot the ships you destroy. You're gonna need that extra power and more space for thrusters and possibly jump drives as well to propel a loaded ship.
I guess it comes down to your server's metagame, where I play no one makes ships with only 10% shields, or without jump drives, scanners etc and generally with more than 1 weapon system using the extra power. I believe this issue is more related to cloaking not requiring modules to go with the...
Ships can burn through their power if they're designed with a 2mil softcap already in place. I'd argue that it's more like many prior changes to the game, pre existing ships may become obsolete but once redesigned they work fine.
