      My Semi Annual yawn.

Dear Panpiper, You are receiving this email because you have an account registered on StarMade-Servers.com. In few days, StarMade-Servers.com website will be shutdown forever after 7 years of existence. StarMade-Servers.com was launched on June 9th, 2013 to help the community to find nice...

If you could add/change/remove one thing in Starmade, what would it be?

Me. I'd change the decision made some six months back to for all intents scrap the entire build system and redo the whole thing virtually from scratch. We had a good thing going for a while. It is gone, replaced by something I see as vastly inferior in virtually every way. I don't know why I...

How many people are still build vs waiting for new power

I'm not waiting any more. I've pretty much given up all hope. This is a disaster.

How many people are still build vs waiting for new power

I haven't touched the game since they decided effectively scrap everything and start over. I expect I will probably never do so again at this point. I have no interest in a simplistic building block game with the lack of strategic depth they are now aiming for. I still have fond memories of...

Please Disagree With My Own Review About Starmade

Yea, not a fan of the disagree button myself. I would much rather know what people are disagreeing with, specifically, and why.

      New Power DEV Thread

Here's the thing. With the old power system, large ships could get away with simply stringing a few lines. Well built large ships would still do the 3D X thing, just because the extra efficiency was minusculely useful. Doing this took at most minutes and the power system was done. Smaller ships...

      New Power DEV Thread

Yea, I lost all interest in building anything the instant they announced they were going to gut the power system. It can take hundreds of hours for me to complete a build at the scale I've been building of late. To do that just for the developers to scrap it is a total waste of time. There is...

      Deep, Dark, Void Horror.

The basic idea was that something like this would be relatively easy to implement in the game. It would be also extremely easy to exclude (using server settings) from a game if someone did not want this sort of play in their game. Given the relative ease with which this could be done, and the...

      Deep, Dark, Void Horror.

This would be a new threat, independent of pirates. They would be ships built using blocks and maybe even build techniques different from the standard ships humans start with. For instance, the void ships could be built using the old power system, complete with docked power, auxiliary reactors...

      Deep, Dark, Void Horror.

Lurking in the darkness in the deep beyond the light, lives that which the universe recoils against. It is the antithesis of life, the demons that were before the universe was born. The war continues between the star light and the void. Horrors creep, tendrils always prodding for weakness. How...

A Solution To Flying Spaghetti Monsters

I ALWAYS build systems first. The form of the ship always follows the function, always. Frankly IMO anyone not building that way is building seriously substandard. Implementing a system that required me to build a hollow shell first and then fill it in would be a MASSIVE downgrade of the game to me.

      New Reactor Power Limitations

Yea, because bigger ships are such a good way to address server lag, we really needed to make ships less 'compact'.

A Solution To Flying Spaghetti Monsters

I have an improvement to this suggestion that would make the resulting clumps a lot less blocky. Any system block gets a bonus to it's effect for each facing upon which it has an identical block attached or a hull block. This would allow blocks to be at full efficiency when placed between walls...

      Questions regarding Alpha Damage

I do in fact largely rely on turrets. The only pilot fired weapon I will have on board usually is a PD cannon/cannon array (in addition to a 'lot' of PD turrets). Any ship I build that does not rely on turrets tends to be sufficiently small, that I am building it to be an AI piloted ship. It is...

      Questions regarding Alpha Damage

"Great range" is a subjective statement. Beam/beam has half the range of cannon/beam and one third the range of missile/beam. If you are fighting a ship that has a higher thrust to weight ratio and the fight starts outside of your range, you are completely screwed. My own ships tend to be...

A possible alternative stabilizer mechanic, using an existing algorithm.

Actually, if Schine is dead set on tying power output to ship size, then this is a far better mechanic than their current free floating stabilizer using only a single dimension. Building one such cross will not be a great burden on anyone, and will not be any more illogical than the current free...

      Fixing Starmade's Continued Play Value.

Hey Batavium The 'configuration' section on Community Content is empty. Might you be willing to make those config changes yourself and upload the file to community content? I ask not for myself as I have no intent to run a server, but I am well aware of the trepidation that others might feel...

      Questions regarding Alpha Damage

Each 'bullet' should do 4000 damage if the weapon's target is intended to be player piloted ships. (4000 is what you need to crack advanced armor that has been fully reinforced with effects.) You can get away with 2000 per bullet if the turret is meant to engage mostly drones (drones can't use...

A Solution To Flying Spaghetti Monsters

I am 'forced' to build power reactors if I want power. Exactly 'how' I build the reactor is up to me (in theory, ideally). I am 'forced' to build thrusters if I want to move, etc., etc.. It does not strike me as unreasonable to be 'forced' to build a power distribution network, as long as I have...

A Solution To Flying Spaghetti Monsters

The game needs (rather desperately) to reduce collision checking, not increase it with more breakaway chunks. Some sort of system that rewards clumping may work, like a 5-10% bonus in block effectiveness for every identical block placed on a block face. That will encourage square or chunky...
